Our practice took Matthew Devoti and Alexa Hillery to Albion, Illinois earlier this month. Matt and Alexa tried a jury case involving a collision between a motorcycle and farm sprayer. Our team couldn't get over Illinois' law regarding contributory fault; the jury returned a defense verdict after more than two hours of deliberation.
The case was a tough: a motorcyclist brought suit against a local farmer in a farming community involving a collision that happened less than two miles from the Edwards County Courthouse. Many jurors knew the farmer, or his wife, or a family member, not to mention the deputy sheriff who investigated the collision. But, our lawyers tried the case. They didn't back down.
We realize you're flooded with commercials and advertisements. We also know you'll never see nor hear our names on a television or radio spot, on a billboard, or on the side of a bus. We've built our practice by working every case for trial and, when necessary, trying those cases to conclusion. This month's case was the fourth tried by our lawyers this year to a jury. Matt and Alexa played a significant role in all four of those cases.
We can't promise results. But, we can promise hard work and the guts to try cases that need to be tried.
