Avandia

The manufacturer of Avandia, GlaxoSmithKline recently announced that
it had set aside over $6 billion to help settle lawsuits.

According to the FDA safety alert, clinical trials have shown that with
Avandia there is a potentially significant increase in the risk of heart attack
and heart-related issues.

While questions about Avandia’s safety have persisted for years, the drug is
still used by more than 2 million people. It was approved for diabetes treatment
in 1999 and an estimated 60+ million prescriptions for Avandia have been
written.

Avandia warnings.
