As he approaches his final year at the University of Missouri School of Law, John will be joining our Edwardsville, Illinois team this summer with a goal of strengthening his research and writing skills across our practice areas and gaining exposure to as many new experiences as possible. During Necrotizing Enterocolitis (NEC) Awareness Month and beyond, we invite you to join us in raising awareness of a life-threatening condition that affects the most vulnerable among us: premature infants.

NEC is a serious gastrointestinal disease that can develop rapidly, most often in premature infants whose systems are still so fragile. We’ve seen firsthand the heartbreak it can cause for families who fed their premature baby cow’s milk-based formulas from manufacturers who failed to issue specific warnings about the risks of NEC.

At Holland Law Firm, we work alongside families who were never told the risks. Raising awareness means not only supporting research and care, but also making sure parents are informed and empowered from the very beginning.

This month and every month after, we stand with the premature infants and parents who have been touched by NEC and will continue to fight for justice on their behalf.

That flag, folded and presented with steady hands, represents a life fully given. A family forever changed. A sacrifice that no holiday can fully capture, but one we should never stop taking time to honor.
