$1.4M Medical Malpractice Settlement - Wrongful Death of 78-year-old (Lake County, IL)

78-year-old gentleman underwent laparoscopic cholecystectomy (gallbladder removal) on Christmas Day. The general surgeon caused injury to the Common Bile Duct and Left and Right Hepatic Ducts. The injury was discovered days later. Repair was attempted 3 months later but was unsuccessful and the patient died shortly thereafter. The case settled shortly before trial was to start.

Nothing says work-life balance like law firm partners, Mike and Pete, slipping out of the office for opening day at Wrigley, only to slip out before the 7th inning stretch.
