According to court filings by Koskoff attorney Chris Mattei, Stamford Hospital allegedly failed to follow appropriate protocols for the care of a psychiatric patient and during a period of lapses in care the patient was then able to seriously injure herself, resulting in blindness. The level of neglect to a vulnerable patient that allowed this incident to occur is unacceptable and and we will fight to bring justice for her and her family.

A wrongful death lawsuit has been filed on behalf of Anthony "Tony" Jannotta, a respected Connecticut attorney, public servant, husband, and father whose life and career were cut short after an alleged delayed cancer diagnosis.

The suit, filed against Yale New Haven Health and a joint medical group, alleges that warning signs of urinary cancer were not properly investigated. The complaint details how, with the delayed diagnosis, Jannotta was unable pursue potentially life-saving treatment and that he then suffered a rapid and painful decline before his passing in 2025. “He knew until the very end that his death was avoidable and should have been prevented,” Attorney Sarah Steinfeld wrote in the complaint.

His loss has left a profound impact on his family, friends, colleagues, and the Connecticut legal community. Through this lawsuit, the family is seeking accountability while bringing awareness to the importance of timely diagnosis. They hope this action helps prevent other families from enduring a similar tragedy.

Attorney Carey Reilly was recognized at the New Haven County Bar’s Second Annual Art Show for her realist oil paintings, Blue Ridge Grocery and Dory Buff.

In a feature highlighting the creativity within the legal community, Carey shared how painting has become her “happy place” alongside her work in medical malpractice litigation. Art offers her a space to focus on finding beauty in imperfection and capturing real life.

We are proud to celebrate Carey’s remarkable talent both inside and outside the courtroom. Check out the full article here: https://www.newhavenindependent.org/2026/05/08/the-secret-lives-of-lawyers/

Koskoff supported the LifeBridge Community Services Annual Symposium: "The Courage to Understand" last night, an event advancing trauma-informed approaches across communities. Understanding how people experience and respond to trauma is essential to building trust, advocating effectively, and serving others with care. It’s work that strengthens how we show up for people, making us more aware, more responsive, and better equipped to make a meaningful difference.

When the City of New Haven faced a federal challenge to immigration policies, it turned to Koskoff.

Led by Attorney Chris Mattei, with support from Attorneys Margaret Donovan and Colin Antaya, we’re proud to stand with New Haven and the broader legal team committed to protecting the rule of law. Because standing up for constitutional rights and pushing back against government overreach is the kind of high stakes work that demands real trial experience and expertise when it matters most.
