(BRIDGEPORT, CT — February 26th, 2023) A Bridgeport man struck the Connecticut Lottery’s CA$HWORD9 jackpot around 2 p.m. Sunday, declaring he plans to use the money to help his daughter buy a house, says attorney Dennis Bradley.

“The guy was great,” Bradley told News 12 Connecticut.

“I happened to be standing there with my friend Tony Barr — at the gas station at North & Park Avenues — when he scratched his way to a quarter million dollars!”

Barr said he was happy to see a hard-working guy get lucky at the lottery window.

“I think it’s great that he wants to help his daughter buy a house,” Barr said. “It’s nice to see good people get a break now and then. If anybody had a break coming to him, it was this guy. Everybody knows him and loves him.”
