A Wall Street Journal analysis of ten years of insurer filings found that auto liability and medical claims closed without any payment have risen from roughly a third in 2016 to nearly half last year.
Here is what that looks like from where I sit.
Someone gets hit on 285. They are hurt, they are missing work, and they are negotiating with a person whose full-time job is settling claims. They have done this once. The adjuster has done it countless times.
