On June 19, 1865, Major General Gordon Granger ordered the final enforcement of the Emancipation Proclamation in Texas. Juneteenth is now celebrated annually on June 19 to commemorate the end of slavery in the United States.

The office will be closed on June 19 in observance of Juneteenth. We will reopen Friday, June 20 at 9:00 a.m.
