A meaningful day at the ALB Malaysia In-House Legal Summit 2026, engaging with Directors, General Counsel, and Compliance Leaders.

We shared a practical reality we continue to see in practice — personal exposure doesn’t come from big failures, but from small gaps.

Policies may exist at group level, but are they clearly adopted at subsidiary level?
Authority may be assumed, but is it properly defined and documented?
Processes may be in place, but are they consistently followed and evidenced?

In investigations, the real question is rarely “was there a policy?” —
it is “can you show it was actually implemented?”

Across regulatory, customs and governance issues, the pattern is consistent:
