While Memorial Day weekend in Williamsburg, VA feels like a vacation of its own, there are SO many great easy getaways too.

You do not need two weeks and a passport. You just need a plan and a few hours in the car.

Williamsburg and Richmond sit close enough to some of the best beach towns, mountain towns and wine regions - one of my favorites, feels like you are in Charlottesville too. The best part is most of these are doable on a tank of gas.

A mix of day trips and overnights, something for every kind of long weekend. This is one of my favorite things about living on the Peninsula and Central VA. The location puts you closer to more than most people realize.

Let me de-influence you: Getting your dream home as your first home is not the norm, and that is okay.
