8 — Deportation Order

A deportation order means an Immigration Judge officially ordered someone removed from the United States.

And yes — this can affect future visas, green cards, and even returning to the U.S. for years.

But in some cases, there may still be legal options available. Understanding your immigration history matters.

Why do businesses hire immigrants?”

Because nobody works harder. 💀

Former ICE supervisor Koby Don Williams was sentenced to more than 11 years in federal prison after being convicted in a child exploitation sting operation involving who he believed was a 13-year-old girl.

This case is a reminder that accountability must apply to everyone — regardless of title or badge.

A MAN RESPONSIBLE FOR BACKGROUND CHECKS FOR ICE AND DHS WAS ARRESTED IN A S*X CRIME STING.

According to reports from Minnesota, Brashad Johnson — who allegedly worked conducting background investigations connected to ICE, DHS, and other federal agencies — was arrested during a prostitution and s*x trafficking sting operation. (FOX 9 Minneapolis-St. Paul)

Police officials described the arrest as one of the “most disturbing” because of the level of access and trust connected to his position. (The Daily Beast)

Another separate case involved an ICE employee later federally indicted after allegedly attempting to solicit a minor during an undercover operation in Minnesota. (FOX 9 Minneapolis-St. Paul)

And in another federal case, a Homeland Security Investigations special agent was charged with production of child s*xual abuse material involving a minor victim. (Department of Justice)

These cases have raised serious national concerns about:
• vetting of federal officers and contractors
• abuse of authority
• accountability inside immigration enforcement agencies
• the risks of rapidly expanding enforcement operations without proper oversight

No agency is immune from misconduct.

And wearing a badge does not place someone above the law.

At the same time, accusations are not convictions, and every criminal case must still go through the court process.

A U.S. CITIZEN WAS DETAINED BY ICE.

The case of Javier Ramirez sparked national attention after a U.S. citizen was detained during an immigration operation in California.

According to reports and videos released:
• he repeatedly stated he was a U.S. citizen
• he allegedly showed identification
• he was still taken into custody

The government later claimed the detention was related to alleged interference with the operation — not his immigration status.

But the case raised serious concerns about:
• racial profiling
• abuse of authority
• wrongful detention
• constitutional rights during ICE operations

Many people believe only undocumented immigrants can be affected during immigration enforcement actions.

The reality is more complicated.

Even U.S. citizens can sometimes be temporarily detained during large-scale federal operations or chaotic enforcement situations.

That is why it is important to:• know your rights• keep documents accessible• have emergency contacts available• avoid physical confrontation during encounters with officers

I WAS ON CAPITOL HILL FIGHTING FOR IMMIGRANTS — AND THIS IS WHAT WE DEMANDED

Yesterday, I stood inside the House of Representatives and the U.S. Senate as part of the American Immigration Lawyers Association’s National Day of Action.

Not for politics. For people.

For my clients. For their families. For their future.

These were the priorities we pushed directly to lawmakers:

• Stop abusive immigration enforcement
• Reject blind funding increases for ICE and Border Patrol
• Increase visa availability and reduce years-long backlogs
• Create real pathways for skilled workers
• Restore accountability and transparency at USCIS

Because behind every “case” is a real story—and the system is failing too many of them.

This is why advocacy matters. This is why we show up.

IMMIGRATION BOND CAN CHANGE EVERYTHING

One hearing can be the difference between staying locked up or going home to your family.

A lot of people think detention means there is nothing left to do.
That is not always true.

In many cases, immigration bond may be the only chance to fight the case from the outside instead of from behind bars.

But bond is not automatic.
And walking into court unprepared can cost you that chance.

The evidence matters.
The judge matters.
The strategy matters.

When freedom is on the line, every detail counts.

He told them he was a U.S. citizen. They told him to be quiet.

He kept saying it.
“I’m a U.S. citizen.”

They didn’t care.

They put him in the back of a truck… with around 40 other people.

No checking.
No listening.
Nothing.

Just imagine that for a second.

You’re a citizen. You’re telling them.
And it doesn’t make a difference.

That’s the part people don’t want to talk about.

Sometimes it’s not about what’s true in the moment — it’s about what’s happening right in front of you.

And once you’re already in that situation, it’s not easy to fix it.

This isn’t just immigration. It’s basic rights.
