🇲🇽 🚨USCIS anunció un nuevo memorando de política que podría cambiar la manera en que muchas personas obtienen la residencia permanente dentro de Estados Unidos. USCIS reiteró que las personas que deseen solicitar la residencia permanente, conocida como Green Card 🪪deberán hacerlo principalmente a través del proceso consular desde fuera del país, salvo en circunstancias extraordinarias.
🔸¿Qué significa este cambio? De acuerdo con USCIS, las personas que ingresaron a Estados Unidos con visas temporales, como visas de turista, estudiante o trabajo, no deberían utilizar esa entrada como el primer paso para obtener la residencia permanente dentro del país.
🚨¿Quiénes podrían verse afectados? Personas con visa de turista, Estudiantes internacionales, Trabajadores temporales, Algunas personas con peticiones familiares o laborales. Sin embargo, USCIS indicó que seguirán existiendo excepciones y circunstancias extraordinarias que podrían permitir el ajuste de estatus dentro del país.
