🏦 Trump Ordered Banks to Close Immigrant Accounts — Will They Actually Do It?

Trump signed an executive order saying banks shouldn't open new accounts for immigrants — and should close existing ones.

But there's a very important reason why many banks won't follow that order.

Immigrants are valuable customers for banks. We use their services and take out loans for cars and houses. Without those loans banks lose millions of dollars. If they follow the executive order to the letter — they lose business they definitely don't want to lose.

That's why many banks probably won't comply with this regulation — because it's simply not in their financial interest.

Hopefully this regulation won't affect too many people. But it's important to stay informed.

What to do if your bank contacts you: 🔹 Don't ignore any documents they send you 🔹 Consult an immigration attorney before responding

✅ Federal Judge Blocks Trump's Immigration Pause — Your Process Can Continue

Good news from June 5th 2026.

A federal judge officially ruled that Trump's pause on 75 countries was completely unconstitutional — and immediately lifted the restrictions for 39 of those countries.

What does this mean?

If you're from one of those 39 countries — your immigration process can continue. This applies to family-based visas, asylum cases, and any other immigration process. The judge is allowing all of those legal processes to move forward again.

This is good news for thousands of people whose processes were on hold.

What to do now: 🔹 If your process was paused — contact us to confirm you can move forward 🔹 Don't wait — act now that the path is open again

✅ DHS Reversed the Green Card Policy — But Don't Relax Just Yet

On May 22nd USCIS announced that not everyone would be able to get a green card inside the U.S. — only those who could explain extraordinary circumstances for staying.

There was a massive outcry. Immigration lawyers, experts, journalists and rights groups pointed out that adjustment of status is explicitly allowed under congressional law — the Immigration and Nationality Act.

About a week later DHS reversed course: yes, you can still adjust status inside the U.S.

Good news. But here's what you need to know:

The reversal doesn't erase the new questions already introduced into the I-485 interview. There are now four new questions about why you're getting your green card inside the U.S. instead of through consular processing.

We have these questions and prepare our clients for them.

What we advise: 🔹 Be prepared for any turn of events — policy can change again 🔹 Know how to answer the four new I-485 questions 🔹 Make sure you can explain your reasons clearly to the officer

Stay alert. Stay vigilant 🙏

🤔 Should You Fight Your Immigration Case or Request Voluntary Departure?

We've been getting a lot of calls about this lately. The answer depends on three key factors.

Factor 1 — How did you enter the country? 🔹 With a visa or without one?

Factor 2 — How long have you been living in the United States?

Factor 3 — Do you have immediate family members? 🔹 Father or mother who is a citizen or resident 🔹 Spouse who is a citizen or resident 🔹 Minor or adult children who are American citizens

If none of these factors apply to your situation — the best decision is probably to request voluntary departure. There's no point spending money on a lawyer if there's no real basis to fight the case.

If any of these factors do apply — talk to a lawyer before making any decision 🙏

⚠️ Conditional Green Card — Don't Get Comfortable: This Could Cost You Your Residency

Many people marry a U.S. citizen, receive their 2-year conditional green card — and assume they're protected. That there's nothing left to do. That deportation is no longer a risk.

This is incorrect.

During this administration, people who miss the deadline to file the petition to remove conditions are receiving notices to appear — and are being placed in deportation proceedings. Why? Because once those 2 years expire without filing, you are technically no longer a resident of the United States.

What you need to keep collecting from day one: 🔹 Joint bank accounts, bills, communication records 🔹 Trips and photos together 🔹 Pregnancy, buying a house or car — all of it counts

Do this right now: 👉 Pull out your green card and check the expiration date 👉 If it's only 2 years — contact an immigration attorney as soon as possible 👉 Don't scramble at the last minute

🚨 Breaking — USCIS May 22, 2026: Not Everyone Can Get a Green Card Inside the U.S. Anymore

USCIS just issued a new policy memo today. Many people who entered the U.S. legally on a visa will now have to leave the country to go through consular processing — instead of adjusting status here.

Who is affected: 🔹 People who came on a tourist, student, or work visa, parole, or TPS 🔹 People who married a U.S. citizen or are reuniting with family 🔹 People pursuing an employment-based green card

The exceptions: ✅ Those granted asylum ✅ VAWA, U visa, T visa, or SIJ status holders ✅ Exceptional circumstances — serious illness, war in home country, no available embassy

What you need to do right now: 👉 Already filed I-485 but no interview yet → most likely you'll need to submit an additional document proving you can't leave the country 👉 About to file I-485 → you'll need to include an extra document explaining why you need to complete the process inside the U.S.

We already know what's going on and exactly what document needs to be submitted. Reach out if you need help 🙏

⚠️ He Applied for a U Visa — and Is Still Facing Deportation. Here's Why.

A Mexican citizen actively cooperated with prosecutors after a family tragedy. The district attorney's office signed the 918-B form, he submitted his U visa application to USCIS — and he's still sitting in detention in Pennsylvania facing deportation.

How is that possible?

Because simply filing the application doesn't protect you. This was always legal — under Biden and Obama they just didn't do it. But at the start of 2025 Trump changed that: U visa applicants can now be targeted by ICE.

What you need to know about the 4 stages: 🔹 Stage 1 — You filed the application → no real protection 🔹 Stage 2 — USCIS accepts and notifies you they're processing your case → safer 🔹 Stage 3 — Work permit + full deportation protection ✅ 🔹 Stage 4 — U visa granted — after 5 to 10 years of waiting

The waiting list is massive. Congress set a cap of just 10,000 U visas per year.

Knowing which stage you're at could make all the difference 🙏
