In a notice to be published in the Federal Register this week, the department will unveil a pilot program that will allow visa applicants to pay the $750 to schedule an appointment for an interview within 10 days of the payment at select U.S. embassies and consulates.

The State Department will soon offer a “premium” expedited service for foreigners seeking business or tourist visas that will set applicants back $750 on top of the basic processing fee of $185.

A federal judge on Monday invalidated President Trump's policy imposing a $100,000 fee on new H-1B visas for high-skilled foreign workers, finding it unlawful.

U.S. District Judge Leo Sorokin ruled in favor of a group of 20 states that challenged President Trump's new $100,000 visa fee.

A federal judge voided a series of Trump administration policies that froze asylum claims and halted immigration processing for citizens from 39 countries. The ruling forces U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) to resume processing green cards, work permits, and citizenship applications that were placed on hold.

The Friday ruling voided four policies that put “the lives of countless individuals on hold,” U.S. District Judge John J. McConnell Jr. said.

The new USCIS policy memo applies to certain immigrants with pending Adjustment of Status (AOS) applications who may be required to pursue immigrant visa processing through a U.S. consulate abroad instead of completing their cases in the United States.
This policy does not automatically apply to everyone with a pending AOS case. Each case must be analyzed based on its specific facts and immigration history.
