"The agents stop drivers if they have 'reasonable suspicion'-–that is, more than a hunch-–that a crime or immigration violation has been, or will be, committed."

Let me de-code what this really is: if you look brown, black, or "Mexican," that's reasonable suspicion, in ICE's view. Let's cut the crap and call it what it is: racial profiling.

Patrolling the area closest to the U.S.-Mexico border may be what first comes to mind when you think of the U.S. Border Patrol, but that’s only one piece of their enforcement efforts.

Fun morning surf sesh in tiny but sunny conditions, followed by a call with a new potential client, and wrapped up work with awesome news from USCIS that it has approved my client's P-3 visa (after a very stupid RFE). Now time to go salsa dancing in LA with my peeps. Memorial Day weekend I am loving you!

Yesterday I had the privilege to join lawyers, community leaders, students and immigrants and meet with California State Assembly and Senate members and staff to advocate for California laws that will protect our immigrant communities from the racist, unjust and impractical policies pushed by the Trump administration. We shared personal stories, experiences of our clients and families, and left feeling encouraged that California is a national leader in protecting our communities and families. — at California State Capitol.
