Today, twenty years to the day, we remember the horror of the day when more than three thousand souls perished. It was in Shanksville, in the Pentagon, and New York City when our nation and our freedom-loving American lifestyle was attacked. We lost these innocents when the twin towers collapsed, when the plane crashed into the Pentagon and when the plane nose-dived into a field in Pennsylvania. We won’t forget those we lost nor those that suffer the loss. We won’t forget those first responders who gave their last full measure of devotion to save lives that day, as well as those who because they heroically went into the smoldering buildings to save a life, though they survived the day, still slowly succumb because of the dastardly acts of terror upon our nation on that day.
Let us not forget them, nor should we forget our heroes that still service our communities, protecting lives and property. Let us always remember the unity we felt as Americans and the pride and respect we had in one and the other of our fellow citizens.
Let us not, nor ever forget that when the enemy was spotted in a far-off land our troops and warriors answered the call and went forth with a strong spirit of love and unity to fight to defend our land and its values. They too are our heroes. We will never forget them, their’s and their loved ones sacrifice!
God bless the United States of America, and pray He forever keeps us free.
