I wish more people openly talked about how Mom CEOs often work twice as hard to exist in the same spaces as everyone else.

And before anybody gets defensive, this isn’t about saying mothers are victims or incapable. It’s actually the opposite.

We must acknowledge that many women are simultaneously carrying responsibilities that directly compete with the mental clarity and time required to build a successful business.

For me, motherhood and entrepreneurship happened at the same time. I started 2 weeks pregnant, and my business is thriving through toddler mom-ing.

I was building the law firm while also breastfeeding for nearly two years. And anybody who has breastfed understands that it’s not just feeding a baby; It’s being the source of comfort, regulation, sleep support, emotional connection, and physical nourishment almost around the clock. (Don’t get me started on cluster feeding and growth spurts)

Even when you’re “off,” you’re not really off.

And statistically, the presence of a man does not always lessen the invisible labor women carry in the home. In many households, it actually creates additional household management responsibilities. More cooking, more cleaning, more emotional coordination, more mental tabs open at all times. When you add children into the mix, mom CEOs never have an “off day.”

Mothers are very often the primary emotional support system in early childhood. Not always, but commonly. And in my case, that is absolutely true.

So while I was trying to grow a business, lead a team, market a company, and make difficult legal and financial decisions, I was also carrying the emotional temperature of a tiny human being every single day with no other adult in the house to split the emotional and financial load with.

That level of responsibility changes you.

And then there’s the final thing nobody really prepares women for: Imposter syndrome.

Sometimes, you just get a tough adjuster. But, with constant guidance, this claim was wrapped up without using all of the PIP benefits, and with extremely low out-of-pocket costs because the client listened to the steps necessary to bring in full policy limits.

Here, we track your medical treatment and bills along the way to ensure you do only what’s necessary!
