🔥HVAC NOTICE TO ALL RESIDENTS

Tips During the Extreme Heat Advisory

Dear Residents,

With the current extreme heat advisory, air conditioning systems are working much harder than normal. To help keep your home comfortable and prevent unnecessary HVAC issues, please follow these important tips:

🐢Lower your thermostat gradually. If your home is currently around 80°F, do not immediately set your thermostat to 70°F. Instead, lower the temperature by 2 degrees at a time, allowing the system to gradually cool your home. Setting the thermostat drastically lower will not cool your apartment faster and can cause the system to run continuously, increasing the risk of the evaporator coil freezing.

💨Replace your air filter regularly. A dirty air filter restricts airflow, making your HVAC system work harder and increasing the likelihood of breakdowns. If your filter is dirty, please replace it as soon as possible.

🏡Keep doors and windows closed. Prevent hot outdoor air from entering your apartment by keeping all windows and exterior doors closed while the air conditioner is running.

🪟Help your system by reducing heat indoors. Keep blinds or curtains closed during the hottest part of the day and limit the use of heat-producing appliances, such as ovens, whenever possible.

🥵Please remember that during periods of extreme heat, your air conditioner may run for extended periods and may not maintain the exact temperature you’ve selected. This is normal when outdoor temperatures are exceptionally high.

Thank you for doing your part to help your HVAC system operate efficiently during this heat wave. If you experience an issue after following these recommendations, please submit a maintenance request.

💧9:00 PM Thursday update: I called the after hours emergency line for town of Orange park maintenance. They routed me to OPPD who informed me that crews are actively working on water pressure issues all over the town. She took down Kingswood as an affected area and said they are actively working in the area in hopes to restore service.

Dear Residents of Kingswood Apartments,

We want to make you aware of an unexpected utility issue affecting our community.

The Town of Orange Park has experienced a sewer main break, which is currently interrupting water service to the Kingswood Apartment Complex. This issue is outside of our control, and the Town is actively working to make the necessary repairs and restore service as quickly as possible.

We understand how inconvenient a water outage can be and sincerely apologize for the disruption. We encourage residents to conserve any available water and make alternative arrangements as needed until service is restored.

We will continue to monitor the situation and provide updates as we receive additional information from the Town of Orange Park.
