Big news for Essence! 💗

Our founder, Ashlin Hadden, is talking all things insurance in her new monthly column with , Fully Covered!

Her first column, “Your Insurance Company Doesn’t Want You. But Someone Does,” asks a question every sexual wellness business should be asking: Does your insurance actually cover what you sell?

If you’ve ever been turned down or wondered what’s hiding in your policy’s fine print, this one’s for you. Ashlin breaks down coverage challenges, hidden exclusions, and the questions worth asking to help protect what you’ve built.

At Essence, we believe your business deserves to be understood. We’re excited to bring that conversation to STIMULATE.

An employee spotlight well deserved! 🧡

When Melissa described Hannah as “very responsive and knowledgeable,” we couldn’t agree more. Hannah makes time for questions and helps clients feel supported. That care doesn’t go unnoticed.

Thank you, Hannah, for all the ways you show up for our clients and our team!

Your store runs online. One cyberattack can bring it to a halt. 🔐

Customer data. Payment details. Your storefront and the systems keeping orders moving. When you sell online, there’s a lot more at stake than a password.

This Cybersecurity Awareness Month, ask yourself: If your store got hacked tomorrow, would your insurance be ready for it?

Cyber liability coverage can help with the costs of a cyberattack. Because dealing with a breach is tough enough without footing the bill alone.

Two different sentences. Amazon requires coverage. Amazon does not require you to buy it from any particular place.

US sellers choose their own broker and their own carrier. That difference only matters when a product is hard to place, which is exactly when it matters most. Go read the email again and notice who Amazon actually names.

- Fire related
- General household devices

It's important not to assume that the requirements only affect new listings or high-revenue accounts.

Think you're protected because you have an LLC and meet Amazon's insurance requirements? There's a little more to it.

Ashlin joined the Clear the Shelf Podcast to break down what Amazon and ecommerce sellers should know about actually protecting the businesses they're building.

They get into Amazon's insurance requirements, product liability, legal defense, inventory coverage, high-risk products and some real claims that show just how unexpected a lawsuit can be. Including one involving a reseller who was sued after a customer tripped over a package on their doorstep.

She didn't make it. She didn't ship it. She didn't fulfill it. It still took more than $30,000 in legal defense to get her out of the lawsuit.

If you're selling on Amazon, this is one of those conversations you want to hear before you need the information.

I’ve had a lot of conversations with Amazon sellers lately who think they’re covered. They have a general liability policy. They have a COI. They’ve checked the insurance box. But with Amazon’s requirements changing November 2, that may not be enough.

The part I think is getting overlooked is that your coverage has to make sense for the products you actually sell. And for sellers in certain enhanced safety categories, insurance may now be required even if you’ve never hit $10,000 in monthly sales.

I break down what I’m seeing, what Amazon changed, and what I’d be checking now in this video.

We also put together a full guide with the affected product categories and requirements:

If you’re assuming your current policy is enough, now is a good time to actually check.

⏳ 48 days to go. Already have insurance? Here’s what to check next.

Having a policy is a starting point. Before Amazon’s November 2 changes take effect, take a closer look at these three things:

📦 Your products: Have you added anything since you bought your policy? Ask your broker whether your current product lineup is covered.
📄 Your certificate: Check your business name, policy dates, and coverage limits. Have your broker review the details against Amazon’s requirements.
🔎 Your Seller Central account: Check Account Health for requirements that apply to your specific products. Don’t rely on sales volume alone to determine whether you’re affected.

Save this checklist and use it for your next insurance review. Need help with the coverage or COI details? That’s where our team comes in. 👉 Read the full November 2 guide: https://ecom.insure/amazon-seller-insurance-guide/
