Divorce Myth #3: Everything gets split 50/50.

Many people believe every divorce ends with an equal division of assets and debts.

Indiana law begins with that presumption, but every case is unique. Factors specific to your situation can affect how property is ultimately divided.

The best decisions are made with accurate information- not assumptions.

If you're navigating a divorce and want to better understand your rights, contact Smith Legal at 317-219-5403 to schedule a consultation.

A moment to reflect on a few milestones this year.

Twenty-one years ago, I was admitted to practice law. This year also marks 10 years of leading Smith Legal LLC. Along the way, I’ve had the privilege of helping clients navigate some of life’s most challenging transitions while building relationships that have shaped my career.

Thank you to the clients, colleagues, mentors, friends, and family members who have been part of that journey.

I am proud of what we have built at Smith Legal and look forward to continuing to serve Indiana families for many years to come. Helping people move forward with confidence remains as important today as it was 21 years ago.
