This day is a time to celebrate their contributions, traditions, and strength, while also recognizing the injustices they’ve endured and continue to fight against.

Indigenous Peoples’ Day was first officially recognized in 1992 in Berkeley, California, as a way to reclaim the narrative and celebrate Indigenous heritage instead of glorifying colonialism. Since then, it’s been adopted across the U.S. with New York City joining in recent years to honor Native communities and their lasting impact on our nation.

Let’s take today to reflect, learn, and uplift Indigenous voices every day not just today. 🪶❤️

Since 1975, International Music Day has celebrated music in all its diversity and promoted its value for people and societies around the world.

Today, we celebrate the right of all children and adults to express themselves musically, learn musical languages and skills, access and participate in music, and the rights of musical artists to develop their artistry and receive fair recognition and remuneration for their work.
