Whoever the Parton "estate" is using is a really low effort lazy process server. Barbed wire and no trespassing signs are a normal function of all property around here but 5 vehicles at house that is just a couple feet from the road? This is exactly why local experienced process servers like me matters so much in a situation like this. In rural or semi-rural parts of Middle Tennessee, the front door is often purely decorative, and everyone—family, friends, and neighbors—knows to automatically head to the side door, back porch, or garage entrance instead.
When you factor in October Halloween decorations, what looks like a hostile "barricade" to an outsider or an overly cautious city server might literally just be a seasonal display.
Why the Server Likely Messed Up:
• Tunnel Vision: Amateur process servers are often trained to approach the main structural entrance (the front door) for safety and legal verification reasons. If they see tape and wire, they often drop everything, take a photo for their compliance report, and leave rather than snooping around the perimeter of a rural property.
• Strict Trespassing Concerns: In rural Tennessee, walking unannounced into a backyard or a side entrance—especially when "No Trespassing" signs are posted—can be a major safety risk for a server. Many choose to play it overly safe which means that huge numbers of process servers "give up" because a sign scares them into doing so.
