Wendy Williams wants out of her guardianship. But what happens when someone under guardianship says, “I can make my own decisions”? 👀

Her highly publicized case raises a bigger question about capacity, autonomy, and who gets to make decisions for you when a court becomes involved.

While Wendy’s case is in New York, the takeaway matters for Florida families too: planning ahead can help protect more than your assets—it can help protect your choices.

Have questions about guardianship or planning for incapacity in Florida? Send us a message.

Adam Sandler built more than a movie career—he built a business. 🎬💼

With Happy Madison Productions, Sandler created something that can keep generating value beyond any single movie or paycheck.

And that raises an important question for every entrepreneur: What happens to your business if something happens to you?

Who takes control? Who inherits ownership? And most importantly—do they know what to do next?

Building a successful business is part of your legacy. Having a plan for its future is, too.

📩 If you own a business and haven’t planned for what happens without you, send us a DM. We’re here to help.

Miley Cyrus built the fortune before she built the family. 👀

But here’s the thing: you don’t need a spouse or kids for estate planning to matter.

If you’ve built assets, a career, a business or simply have people you care about there are decisions worth planning for.

You built the life. Make sure you build the plan.

Your Child With Special Needs Is Turning 18. What Happens Next? 💚

At 18, your child becomes a legal adult and your authority as their parent changes too.

But full guardianship isn’t automatically the answer. Depending on your child’s needs, there may be different options to provide support while preserving as much independence as possible.

📩 Don’t wait until their 18th birthday to start planning. Send us a DM to learn about the options available for your family.

Serena Williams retired from tennis. Her wealth didn’t. 🎾

Her career is a powerful example of why building wealth doesn’t have to stop when one chapter of your life ends.

Businesses, investments, ownership interests, and other assets can continue to grow—and that raises important legacy planning questions:

Who will manage what you’ve built?
Who will benefit from its future growth?
And how do you prepare the next generation to receive it?

Estate planning isn’t only about deciding who receives your assets. It can also be about creating a plan for the wealth and legacy you’re still building.

Power of Attorney vs. Guardianship: Do you know the difference? ⚖️

Both can involve someone making decisions on another person’s behalf, but they work very differently.

A Power of Attorney allows you to choose someone you trust and grant them certain legal authority while you have the capacity to do so.

Guardianship, on the other hand, is a court-supervised process that may become necessary when someone lacks capacity in certain areas and less restrictive alternatives aren't sufficient.

The key takeaway? Planning ahead gives you the opportunity to make important decisions for yourself before a crisis occurs.

📩 Not sure which option may be appropriate for your family? Send us a DM. We’re here to help you understand your options.

Divorce changes your life. But did you remember to update your estate plan? 💔

Adele’s story reminds us that major life changes deserve more than an emotional fresh start. They’re also a reason to revisit the legal documents that protect you and your family.

After a divorce, your Will, trusts, beneficiary designations, powers of attorney, and healthcare documents may no longer reflect your wishes.

And if you have children, it’s especially important to consider how the assets you leave behind would be managed for them.

Estate planning isn’t something you do once and forget. Your plan should evolve as your life does.

📩 Recently divorced or experienced a major family change? Send us a DM. We’re here to help.

Your pet is family. But are they included in your estate plan? 🐶🐾

You've thought about who gets your home, your savings, and your belongings. But have you thought about who would care for your pet if something happened to you?

Pets can't inherit money or property directly, but proper estate planning can help you designate a caregiver and provide for their future needs, including food, veterinary care, and medication.

Because protecting your family means thinking about every member—even the ones with four legs. ❤️

💍 Sofía Vergara had a prenup. But was that enough to protect her future?

When Sofía and Joe Manganiello divorced, their prenuptial agreement helped establish how their separate property would be handled.

But here’s what many couples overlook: A prenup is NOT an estate plan.

A prenup addresses certain financial rights between spouses. An estate plan addresses what happens to your assets, who inherits them, and who can make decisions for you if you become incapacitated.

Whether you're getting married for the first time or starting a new chapter, protecting your future means looking at the bigger picture.

✨ Marriage changes your life. Make sure your estate plan keeps up.

📩 Getting married or remarried? Send us a DM to discuss your estate planning options.
