☀️Sedgwick County, Kansas⚡️

Sedgwick County is considering a 535 MW solar and battery energy storage project between Haysville and Clearwater, and your voice matters. This project would bring major economic benefits to the county—up to $82 million in tax revenue to support roads, schools, and emergency services—while creating local jobs and providing stable, homegrown energy.

Solar and storage also offer real benefits for farmers by providing reliable lease income, respecting private property rights, and keeping land in agricultural use with low-impact development.

Join us at the Wichita-Sedgwick County Metropolitan Area Planning Commission (MAPC) hearing to show support for smart, responsible energy development that strengthens Sedgwick County’s economy and rural communities!

🌎 Earth Day is Here - Let’s Stand Together To Protect What Matters Most

With you by our side we have continued to stand up for climate action:

⚡️We let the Kansas Corporation Commission know how you felt about fossil gas plant expansion in Kansas, resulting in a plan with meaningful guardrails to protect consumers.

☀️We uplifted the voices of young people organizing against climate injustice.

🔋We connected our neighbors in Wyandotte County with resources to keep their power on while working on plans to make their homes more energy efficient.

💡We launched an energy siting collaborative that will provide elected officials with data to make informed decisions concerning solar siting.

🌻We gathered at the Kansas State Capitol along with hundreds of our fellow citizens on the 10th annual WEALTH Day to tell our elected officials that NOW is the time to uphold responsible water, energy, air, land, transportation, and health policies.

Now is not the time to let up or step back. We need to stand firm. We need to keep speaking up and keep doing the work, together. We need to keep pushing forward.

In this spirit, please consider an Earth Day gift to the Climate + Energy Project. In return, we promise to keep fighting for the things you care about - our Earth and our fellow humans.

Thank you all who attended WEALTH Day 2026! We had over 100+ Kansans who helped make this day special. We meet with legislators, learned about WEALTH policies that we could educate law makers on, and represented environmental issues through our own unique lenses.

Thank you to our WEALTH sponsors and partners who helped made this day possible.
