$1,000 Housing Assistance Grants Now Available
If you were displaced by the May 18 tornado in Plevna (Reno County) or Grinnell (Gove County), you may be eligible for a $1,000 grant to help cover unexpected housing costs.
This grant is designed to support residents facing financial strain due to the storm. Individuals may qualify for up to a $1,000 grant if they:
• Are a homeowner forced to relocate from a primary residence due to damage or loss
• Are a renter forced to a new residence due to unsafe living conditions
• Incurred hotel costs after being forced to leave their home after the tornado

Mid-Kansas Home Sales Fell in May
Total home sales in the Mid-Kansas region fell last month
to 132 units, compared to 145 units in May 2024. Total sales
volume was $26.7 million, up from a year earlier.
The median sale price in May was $179,222, up from
$160,000 a year earlier. Homes that sold in May were
typically on the market for 10 days and sold for 100.0% of
their list prices.
Mid-Kansas Active Listings Down at End of May
The total number of active listings in the Mid-Kansas
region at the end of May was 238 units, down from 242 at
the same point in 2024. This represents a 1.9 months'
supply of homes available for sale. The median list price of
homes on the market at the end of May was $229,000.
During May, a total of 143 contracts were written up from
138 in May 2024. At the end of the month, there were 186
contracts still pending.

Reno County Economic Development Strategic Plan and Public Survey Launch

The Greater Hutch Economic Development Partnership for Reno County within the Hutchinson/ Reno County Chamber of Commerce is excited to announce the launch of the new Reno County Economic Development Strategic Plan. This multi-phase process facilitated by Aha! Strategy + Facilitation under the expertise of Amy Holloway is designed to help inform the new 5-year economic development strategy for Reno County.

The strategy is led by Greater Hutch Economic Development Partnership and the Hutchinson / Reno County Chamber of Commerce. We are energized to engage our community to work together through this process and implement the resulting resource to elevate Reno County.

Mid-Kansas Home Sales Rose in April
Total home sales in the Mid-Kansas region rose by 8.9% last month to 147 units, compared to 135 units in April 2024. Total sales volume was $26.9 million, up 10.9% from a year earlier.
The median sale price in April was $160,550, down from $167,900 a year earlier. Homes that sold in April were typically on the market for 12 days and sold for 100.0% of their list prices.
Mid-Kansas Active Listings Up at End of April
The total number of active listings in the Mid-Kansas region at the end of April was 249 units, up from 232 at the same point in 2024. This represents a 2.0 months' supply of homes available for sale. The median list price of homes on the market at the end of April was $199,925.
During April, a total of 128 contracts were written down from 133 in April 2024. At the end of the month, there were 160 contracts still pending

Hutchinson!!! The City Council has numerous topics on their agenda tonight that are housing related. Please take time to review the agenda and packet information that explains tonight's topics. They include public hearings for 2 apartment complexes; Condemnation of several properties in town; CID increase for Mall; and changing the zoning for 14 acres on N Monroe for a housing development. The Housing Needs Assessment called for more than a 1000 new homes in Hutchinson. Way in, watch, be informed.

Total home sales in the Mid-Kansas region rose by 5.6% last month to 75 units, compared to 71 units in February 2024. Total sales volume was $12.7 million, down 15.8% from a year earlier.
The median sale price in February was $137,000, down
from $175,000 a year earlier. Homes that sold in February were typically on the market for 28 days and sold for 98.5% of their list prices.
Mid-Kansas Active Listings Up at End of February
The total number of active listings in the Mid-Kansas region at the end of February was 261 units, up from 195 at the same point in 2024. This represents a 2.1 months' supply of homes available for sale. The median list price of homes on the market at the end of February was $212,500. During February, a total of 110 contracts were written down from 126 in February 2024. At the end of the month, there were 135 contracts still pending.

Awards for production as well as REALTORS and Rookies of the Year were among the highlights.
