Tim Farris Law Firm is pleased to announce that it has successfully obtained a confidential monetary settlement on behalf of its client, Dr. David Roy, in the alienation of affection lawsuit filed against Senator Chris Johnson. In addition to the monetary settlement Senator Chris Johnson has posted a public apology on his campaign website admitting to the affair with Dr. Roy’s wife Aimee Roy from 2018 to 2023. The settlement, reached on August 13, 2026, represents a significant milestone in this case and delivers a measure of justice that Dr. David Roy rightfully deserved. While the monetary amount remains confidential, Dr. Roy is satisfied that the amount paid sends a clear message as this case was never about the money. No amount of money can repair the damage done to Dr. Roy and his family by Senator Chris Johnson. It is Dr. Roy’s intention that a portion or all of the proceeds of the settlement will be donated to various charities of his choosing.

This case settled a little over two weeks before trial due to the preparation put into the case.

Today I want to address a matter that has caused pain to many people.
From 2018 to 2023 , I had a sexual affair with Aimee Roy while she was married to Dr. David Roy. It was wrong, and I take full responsibility for my actions.
To Dr. David Roy, I sincerely apologize for the pain my actions caused you. I am truly sorry for the harm I have caused you and your family.
I also apologize to Wendi, our children, my family, my friends, and the people who have placed their trust in me. I understand that my actions have caused hurt and disappointment.
I take full responsibility for my actions and regret the pain that my actions have caused.
