Please join us in welcoming attorney Jacob Todd to the firm!!
Jacob primarily practices estate planning and business law but is not afraid to engage in a bit of litigation.
Before entering private practice, Jacob clerked for the Honorable Amber Collins-Gebrehiwet of the Marion County Circuit Court. The experience gave him a close look at how courts evaluate arguments and resolve disputes, as well as a healthy respect for clear writing.
Before becoming an attorney, Jacob worked in the trades, in the dirt, and behind counters and steering wheels. His route to the law was not especially direct, but it taught him how to communicate with different kinds of people, solve real-world problems, and give straight answers to questions that are not always so straightforward. Just as importantly, it showed him what it takes to earn a living, support a family, and build a business.
Jacob concurrently earned his J.D. from the Indiana University Robert H. McKinney School of Law and a Master of Arts in Philanthropic Studies from the Indiana University Lilly Family School of Philanthropy. He received his bachelor’s degrees in criminal justice and psychology from Indiana University Bloomington.
In his spare time, Jacob enjoys reading, trying new recipes, tabletop roleplaying games, horology, and making jokes with unnecessarily narrow audiences.
We’re thrilled to have Jacob with us and look forward to all he’ll accomplish. Welcome to Beckman Lawson, Jacob! ⚖️
