Your trust doesn't know your grandchild was born. It doesn't know you sold the lake house, moved to a new state, or that Congress changed the law. A trust that isn't reviewed after major life events — marriage, divorce, birth, death, a new property — may distribute your estate in ways you'd never choose.

🚫 MONDAY MYTH: "Once I put my assets in a trust, creditors can't touch them."

A revocable living trust offers zero creditor protection. Because you still control it, it's still legally yours — and creditors can reach it just as easily as your personal bank account.

Creditor protection requires an irrevocable structure. That's a different tool, with real trade-offs worth understanding.

If you can revoke it, a creditor can reach it.
