Had the pleasure to be part of the first docket of 11th Circuit oral arguments held in the Hugo L. Black United States Courthouse in Birmingham (when in Alabama, the 11th Circuit normally sits in Montgomery). I argued on behalf of a Baldwin County small business owner in a federal wage-and-hour case. The three-judge panel was receptive to our arguments, and we look forward to seeing their decision.

I currently handle appeals in Alabama, Mississippi, and Florida state courts, as well as The United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth and Eleventh Circuits.

Do not trust any service that relies on Artificial Intelligence to provide you with legal services. Multiple attorneys around the country are getting in trouble with courts because AI will cite to cases that do not exist. In this case, the court broke down which citations were to real ones and which were to fake ones.

I was honored to partner up with Jason Darley to participate in Oral Argument before the US Court of Appeals for the 11th Circuit. We represent a man who received an illegal sentence after the district court improperly relied on mere hearsay testimony to double the sentence our client, with Jason serving as his trial counsel, negotiated with federal prosecutors.

I write briefs and argue before appellate courts in Alabama, Mississippi, and Florida, along with the US Courts of Appeal for the Fifth, Eleventh, and Federal Circuits.

This is the story of a Chevrolet Camaro. A very well-traveled 1968 Camaro. Baldwin County resident Thomas Hadley, who has owned the vehicle since 2016, got a surprise visit from the Alabama Department of Revenue last month after the Vehicle Identification Number of a car registered in Tennessee matc...

I am beyond proud when my colleagues ask me to represent them in personal matters. It is an honor to be a lawyer to other lawyers.

It is not over yet but I am happy over this outcome for Jason Hadley and his father.

A Baldwin County judge ordered Friday the Baldwin County Sheriff’s Office must give a Perdido man his white 1968 Chevrolet Camaro back after deputies on Wednesday gave the muscle car

Thank you for the kind words, Jason. This is an appeal that deserves extra scrutiny, and I look forward to OA in November.

I am excited to announce that I am assuming Baldwin County’s contract for indigent appellate defense. I will be writing briefs to the Alabama Court of Criminal Appeals and Alabama Supreme Court. I feel honored that the Judges and the committee trust me with this responsibility.

I also participate in the US District Court for the Southern District of Alabama’s Criminal Justice Act Panel writing briefs to the US Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit. I was also selected by a panel of judges and attorneys for that opportunity.

Nearly all of my appellate practice comes from my fellow attorneys. I greatly appreciate that they trust me with their clients. I handle appellate matters of all types - civil, criminal, domestic, and probate - in both State and Federal Courts.

Disney and the previous Reedy Creek board agreed to revert decisions back to Disney World, which could render DeSantis’ board powerless.

Today is the day Alabama appellate attorneys must reset their electronic filing account with the state's new appellate case management system, C-Track from Thomson Reuters.

For my friends who will be doing this, I must warn you: the portal you go through looks "about to send money to a Nigerian prince" sketchy. At first, I thought the state website had been hacked and was part of a phishing scam. But after going through the two-factor authentication (code sent to email address on file and code sent to cell phone by text) everything was okay. I called the Supreme Court Clerk's Office and spoke with IT, who confirmed for me that I had done everything correctly.

Last week I had the privilege of attending the Winning Strategies seminar put on by the Federal Defenders Office as part of my work with the Criminal Justice Act panel handling appeals to the US Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit.

One of my favorite sessions was the discussion of the last US Supreme Court term, and a look ahead to the upcoming docket.
