Our owner and founder knows numerous Marines that have received a Purple Heart, so today we want to honor all of them and any others who have received this distinction.
Today is National Purple Heart Day, and to all of those who have fought for our country and received one, thank you. We cannot truly and fully express our gratitude to you.
Here's a little bit of information about the Purple Heart for those of you who want to know more:
A Purple Heart is a distinction and means a service member has greatly sacrificed themselves, or paid the ultimate price, while in the line of duty.
It is purple because the color is meant to represent bravery. The Purple Heart is in fact the oldest military decoration still presented to service members. The award was always meant to be ‘‘a figure of a heart in purple cloth or silk edged with narrow lace or binding.”
To all of those who were injured or paid the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty. Today, we honor you.
