Fairfax lawyers if you have not attended the mental health docket in 2H every other Wednesday, I highly recommend you find time and go. I (Jon Sheldon) attended yesterday, 9/18, just to observe. It is how court should be. Judge Tina Snee is amazing, thoughtful, compassionate and wise. Defendants appear before the judge with a phalanx of CSB employees in the courtroom and Judge Snee notes and focuses on those things the defendant did well and asks the courtroom to clap for the defendant. Only after that does Judge Snee note those things needing improvement (what we used to call "violations of conditions") and discusses how the team can improve compliance. It is how all court should be.

Defendant was convicted of felony assault on a police officer with a mandatory min. 6 month sentence against a Wintergreen police officer, one of 9 private police agencies in Virginia. The video showed the drunk defendant smoking a cigarette and walking quickly toward the cop - who testified he feared for his safety. Jon Sheldon was hired to file a motion to set-aside at sentencing and the court granted the motion, ruled that Wintergreen police are not covered by the felony assault on law enforcement statute, and struck the felony conviction.
