💚 Philanthropy Friday! 💚

This week, we’re highlighting the Ready or Not Foundation and the incredible work they do for children and families affected by pediatric brain cancer.

Hilliard Law has been proud to support the Ready or Not Foundation over the years, and we recently had the opportunity to attend their Honoring the Giants event!

The foundation is dedicated to raising awareness and funding research to advance treatments and ultimately find a cure for pediatric brain cancer.

Our connection to this organization goes back years! In fact, our very own Catherine Hilliard was named a 2018 Ready or Not Best Dressed Honoree, a recognition celebrating individuals who make a difference through their philanthropy and service to the community. 💚 Be sure to swipe all the way to the end for a special throwback!

A major update in the Ford CP4 fuel pump lawsuit.

A federal judge has certified five state classes involving certain Ford 6.7L diesel truck owners in California, Louisiana, Ohio, Pennsylvania and South Carolina.

The lawsuit involves allegations surrounding the Bosch CP4 high-pressure fuel pump and the costly damage that can occur when the pump fails.

Court Observance Week is officially recognized in Corpus Christi! ⚖️

Today, Mayor Paulette Guajardo proclaimed October 11-17, 2026, as Court Observance Week, recognizing the dedication and contributions of legal support professionals to our justice system.

The Corpus Christi Association of Legal Professionals (CCALP), an organization that supports legal professionals through education, networking, and professional development, attended today’s proclamation in celebration of the occasion.

Among those in attendance were Hilliard Law’s very own Rosaura Salinas and former Hilliard Law team member Dee Martinez!

Rosaura, a Legal Assistant at Hilliard Law, previously served as CCALP President for two years and currently serves as Parliamentarian. Dee also remains involved with the organization, serving in the Reservations/Employment position.

This year’s theme, “The Rule of Law and the American Dream,” highlights the importance of the rule of law in protecting the rights and freedoms of all individuals.

As we celebrate Court Observance Week, we recognize and thank the legal professionals throughout our community for the important work they do each day to support our justice system. 💙

Do you know what changes you should actually be looking for when it comes to breast cancer?

Most of us know we should “stay on top of it,” but what does that really mean?

Alliana Rodriguez, our Health & Wellness Nurse Practitioner, breaks it down for us. She shares signs and symptoms to look out for, when to think about screenings and mammograms, and how to perform a self-check at home.

And something you may not know: men can get breast cancer, too.

The biggest takeaway? Know your body. Pay attention to changes. And don’t put off asking questions or getting checked when something doesn’t feel right.

Today, our Hilliard Law team had the honor of building, designing, and decorating a playhouse for the Habitat for Humanity Playhouse Project. We worked hard until the very last minute, but every screw, every brushstroke, and every moment was worth it when we got to reveal this little garden playhouse to two very special sisters. 💐

Girls, we hope this little home brings you endless adventures, big imaginations, and the sweetest memories. Welcome home! 💙
