enabled the creation of the mass detention and deportation apparatus we have today and it’s time to repeal it!



25 years ago, former President Clinton signed the Illegal Immigration Reform and Immigrant Responsibility Act (IIRIRA) into law that has destroyed millions of families. For over two decades this xenophobic law has strengthened the collaboration between local police and immigration agents, it has expanded the grounds for deportation, and has allowed due process to be eliminated for many immigrants. It’s time Congress fix our immigration laws so that they reflect our reality: immigrants –– be it asylum seekers, refugees or migrants –– have been a blessing to the nation.

DACA has been fully REINSTATED!!!! New DACA application are now being accepted. One year Employment Authorization will now be two years. This reinstatement also includes Advance Parole.

This is amazing news for our DREAMERS and our immigrant communities!

“This is a really big day for DACA recipients and immigrant young people,” said Karen Tumlin, director of the Justice Action Center, who litigated the class-action case. “It’s a day that many of them have been waiting for for over three years.” She said it could open the door for hundreds of thousands of immigrant youths “who have been unfairly denied their chance” under the DACA program.

Up to 300,000 additional undocumented immigrants could be allowed to apply for protection from deportation under a new court ruling. President Trump had sought to cancel the program.

Another WIN for Dreamers!!!!

"A judge has ruled that recent changes to Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) that were a veiled attempt to gut the program are invalid because Chad Wolf—the acting secretary of the Department of Homeland Security (DHS)—was not lawfully appointed to his position."

This does not mean that DACA will be completely restored. However, positive changes may come with the Biden Administration.

Changes to the DACA program that would have gutted the program have been invalidated because DHS Acting Secretary Chad Wolf's appointment was illegal.

Apartir del 1 de diciembre se aplicara el nuevo examen para la ciudadanía. Este examen consiste de estudiar de 128 preguntas y tendrá que contestar 20 preguntas de esas 20 necesita 12 respuestas correctas.

As of December 1st USCIS will implement the New Citizenship test. This test will make it harder to become a US citizen. The test consist of studying from 128 questions and answering 20 questions of which 12 must be correct.

If you want to apply for your US Citizenship do it NOW before December 1. If you have any questions please call AAG Law Center and we will be more than happy to assist you!!!!

People seeking to become U.S. citizens will be required to take a harder and longer citizenship test. The new test increases the number of questions.

Despite their hard work and educational achievements, immigrant women earn less than foreign-born men, and less than native-born men or women. Given their numbers and diversity, however, the scale of their economic contributions cannot be denied."

There are more than 23 million female immigrants in the United States, and they are a formidable presence in U.S. society and the economy.­
