READ NOW: GGH attorney Jamie Majerus was featured on the front page of The Carmel Pine Cone in Monterey, California discussing a lawsuit GGH filed on behalf of a survivor who alleges she was groomed and sexually abused by her former high school principal.

As Jamie told the newspaper:

"This action was brought when the survivor was able to come forward and pursue justice, and we intend to let the evidence speak for itself in court."

A lawsuit filed by GGH against the Diocese of Springfield was recently featured by NPR Illinois.

The lawsuit is the first public allegation of sexual abuse against a former Springfield priest who had not previously been publicly linked to abuse claims. It was filed on behalf of a man who alleges he was sexually abused while serving as an altar boy and attending St. Mary's Catholic School in Taylorville. The complaint further alleges the Diocese knew or should have known of the abuse and failed to protect children.

As Founding Partner Michael Grieco told NPR Illinois: *"This was about power and access. A priest took advantage of his authority to abuse a child while the Church looked the other way."*

A week of learning, teaching, collaborating, and advocating.
At American Association for Justice Annual Conference in Chicago, our attorneys had the privilege of presenting on some of the most challenging issues facing the civil justice system — from representing survivors of sexual abuse to institutional negligence and systemic cover-ups to emerging toxic tort litigation.

Beyond the podium, AAJ is an opportunity to learn from the nation's leading trial lawyers, exchange ideas, and strengthen the relationships that ultimately help us better advocate for our clients.

Thank you to everyone who attended our sessions and connected with our team.

As July comes to a close, we reflect on the importance of Medical Malpractice Awareness Month and the patients and families affected by preventable medical errors.

When we seek medical care, we place our trust in healthcare professionals to provide accurate diagnoses and safe, competent treatment. Yet diagnostic errors remain a significant patient safety concern.

According to the National Academy of Medicine, most people will experience at least one diagnostic error during their lifetime. Johns Hopkins Medicine also estimates that 795,000 Americans die or are permanently disabled each year due to diagnostic errors.

Not every patient injury is the result of medical malpractice. But when preventable medical errors cause harm, patients deserve answers, accountability, and a healthcare system committed to learning from those mistakes.

At Gould Grieco & Hensley, we are committed to advocating for individuals and families harmed by preventable medical negligence and helping ensure negligent providers are held accountable.

Because every patient deserves safe care.

Environmental contamination can leave lasting consequences for entire communities, making accountability and scientific evidence critical in the pursuit of justice.

GGH Founding Partner Bryce T. Hensley will share his experience alongside some of the nation's leading trial lawyers at the American Association for Justice (AAJ) 2026 Annual Convention, one of the country's premier gatherings for plaintiff trial attorneys.

During the Environmental and Toxic Torts Section CLE Program, Bryce will present "Breaking It Down: The Ethylene Oxide Case." The session will explore the legal and scientific complexities of ethylene oxide litigation, including strategies for proving causation, developing expert evidence, and navigating high-stakes toxic exposure claims.

With extensive experience litigating complex environmental and toxic tort cases, Bryce will share practical insights and lessons learned from the front lines of this evolving area of law, helping fellow trial lawyers develop effective strategies to advocate for individuals and communities impacted by toxic exposure.

Jamie Majerus found her calling in a courtroom long before she ever stood in one as an attorney.

Summoned for jury duty on a child molestation case while she was in college, Jamie watched a prosecutor advocate for a survivor during trial. As she left the courthouse that day, she knew she wanted to do the same for others. Just a few weeks later, she signed up for the LSAT.

As she continued through law school, Jamie discovered she could pursue that same mission through the civil justice system, representing survivors of childhood sexual abuse. It was a path that allowed her to stand beside survivors, advocate on their behalf, and help them navigate some of the most difficult moments of their lives.

Today, at Gould Grieco & Hensley, Jamie represents survivors of childhood sexual abuse across California, guiding them through the civil legal process and fighting to hold institutions accountable for the systemic failures that allowed their abuse to occur. Throughout her career, she has secured multiple seven-figure settlements on behalf of survivors — meaningful outcomes that provide accountability, validate their experiences, and help them move forward.

For Jamie, every case is about more than the outcome. It's about helping survivors reclaim what was taken from them.

UPDATE: GGH Partner Jennifer Cascio spoke with KOLD News 13 in Tuscon, Arizona following the latest developments in the wrongful death case involving our client, Bluesky Thomas, who suffered catastrophic injuries while receiving mental health care at Sonora Behavioral Health.

Although the criminal case against a former employee in connection to this case was dismissed at the preliminary hearing, the family's intent to file a wrongful death lawsuit continues to move forward, seeking accountability for the catastrophic injuries Bluesky suffered while in the facility's care. The civil case raises important questions about Sonora Behavioral Health's policies, training, supervision, and whether appropriate safeguards were in place to protect patients.

Jennifer, who represents the family alongside GGH Founding Partners Martin Gould and Bryce Hensley, discussed why the civil justice system remains an important path to uncovering the facts and pursuing accountability for Bluesky's family.
