Yesterday, a vehicle crashed near the YNOT After School Camp in Chatham, Ill. – the same camp where four children and one 18-year-old camp counselor were killed when a driver crashed through the side of the building in April 2025. Salvi, Schostok & Pritchard Partner John A. Mennie recently obtained a $500,000 pre-suit personal injury settlement. The recovery was made on behalf of a 24-year-old woman struck by a pickup truck while crossing the street in Crystal Lake, Illinois. As a result of the collision, she sustained multiple injuries, was admitted to the hospital, underwent physical and occupational therapy, and required chiropractic care and trigger point injections.

Louis “Louie” Froehlich was a bright light in this world. A hardworking craftsman with a gift for connecting with people young and old, Louie cared deeply about others and never hesitated to stand up for someone in need. At just 19, he was a self-taught drummer with dreams of making it big in a new band—but those dreams were shattered when he was hit and killed in an impaired driving crash that also injured two of his friends. While his family carries on his spirit in loving life and others, they are also relentless advocates for safer roads and no more victims.
