Rooted in Cultural Identity in the World’s Borough - In the eighth episode of the “Meet The Presidents” Webinar Series, Christina Chelliah, Chair and Founder of the Foreign Trained Attorneys Network, speaks to Asha Paulose, President of the South Asian & Indo-Caribbean Bar Association of Queens (SAICBA-Q) about the history behind the unique nature of SAICBA-Q’s membership, which was formed to bring together attorneys of South Asian and Indo-Caribbean descent with a homebase in Queens, New York and to create a space for their shared values and lived experiences. One of the mission statements of SAICBA-Q is also to increase diversity in the judiciary, and Asha talks to us about how some of the original founding members now serve as Advisory Board Members who have since been called to the Bench.
