How to Get Involved:
Are you interested in joining or working with the Consumer Financial Services Committee? There are several ways to become involved:
• Attend a Meeting
Many of our members meet at any of our three annual meetings, including the Business Law Section (BLS) Spring Meeting, the BLS Annual Meeting, and the CFSC Winter Meeting, at which numerous substantive subcommittees within the CFSC present CLE programs addressing a wide variety of relevant consumer finance topics.
• Join our Young Lawyers or In-House Counsel Subcommittees
The CFSC also has both a Young Lawyers Subcommittee and an In-House Counsel Subcommittee to engage members with content particular to their roles within the legal profession.
• Publish or Speak
CFSC acts as a resource to agencies as legislation or regulations are promulgated. The CFSC publishes the preeminent Annual Survey of Consumer Financial Services Law, sponsors the annual Consumer Financial Services Institute for new practitioners, assists committee members seeking to publish books or treatises, and publishes a quarterly e-newsletter focusing on recent developments in consumer finance law. If you would like to speak at a CFSC conference, please contact the Chair and Vice-Chairs of a subcommittee, using the contact information available on the CFSC website.
• Join Leadership
The CFSC offers Young Lawyer Liaison positions for newer lawyers to participate in the leadership of all of our subcommittees. Additionally, the CFSC has a revolving roster of leadership roles, from participation as a Chair or Vice-Chair of a subcommittee to the CFSC Chair and Vice-Chair roles. Using our page:
