Remember the mobile home I showed you a few weeks ago? Who would have guessed, right? Well, we are officially in contract! ✨

This one had a lot of moving pieces. Our buyer client is starting a new chapter here in Santa Cruz while selling a home at the same time, so there was a lot of coordinating to make the timing work. We put together an offer that worked for everyone, and after some negotiations, we got there!

A few things that made this one special: lots of natural light, a completely remodeled kitchen (swipe to see), French doors from the bedroom out to a private backyard with a gorgeous magnolia tree, and a super convenient spot close to 41st Ave and Pleasure Point. Plus some of the lowest HOA dues in the county.

103 Green is SOLD 🤍

This one is a little hard to sum up in a “just sold” post.

I started out representing the seller, and somewhere along the way, I ended up representing the buyer, too. So I got to be part of this transaction from both sides, all the way through closing.

Before we even got to market, there was mold remediation, inspections, getting the house ready, staging, photography and figuring out how to best tell the story of a property with so many possibilities and opportunities.

Then we listed.

There was a price change.
Then multiple offers.
Then negotiations.
Then more inspections.
Then a backup offer.
Then notices to perform.
Then more conversations and more negotiating.

Green definitely kept us on our toes, kept giving us something new to work through, and that’s also what made this one so rewarding.

But after everything, we finally handed over the keys ✨

This was a great example of why experience matters when you’re navigating a transaction from both sides of the table.

I’m going to miss this one.

Have you read this book? I just finished and it’s one where I have to collect my thoughts after. Here is the dump I had once I finished. And - I want to know your take away too.

Everyone should read this book - no matter who you are or where you are at in life.

I felt understood reading this book. I am one who spends a lot of their time pondering the meaning of life and one who believes it’s one of our greatest purposes to uncover. Sometimes, a lot of times, people find that a bit intense or uncomfortable. Some may think it’s strange, or even unwell to not find the same comforts and every day conversation, conversations or activities.

I appreciated how the author illustrated the idea that simply because one thinks differently or is unhappy, suffering, or questioning the meaning of life does not mean they’re ill. He dignifies these feelings is something that is innately human and important to explore.

Another way he adds to this is “ there are things which must cause you to lose your reason or you have none to lose” I interpret this as just because your reaction to large questions or circumstances may make you unpleasant. It certainly doesn’t make you unwell.

The quote that struck me the most was this “ what we really needed was a fundamental change in our attitude toward life… We had to teach the despairing man that it did not really matter what we expected from life, but rather what life expected from us. We needed to stop asking about the meaning of life, and instead to think of ourselves as those were being questioned by life daily and hourly… Therefore the meaning of life differs from man-to-man and for a moment to moment.”

So what is life asking of us in this moment? Looking at all of life’s obstacles this way it can be so empowering. Highlighting the importance of recognizing your significance and responsibility to life.

Nietzche quotes frequent the pages, “he who has a why to live for can bear with almost any how”, which summarizes the book well.

This one was a JOURNEY 🤍

Our buyer clients started looking for land almost 3 years ago. We looked at a lot of properties, waited for the right one, then eventually found 220 Lake Drive in Boulder Creek - and even with multiple offers, they got into contract.

And then the fun part began 😉

During escrow, we had questions about the crawl space and some separation in the beams underneath the home, so we brought in a contractor to take a closer look and talk through possible solutions.

Then there was a plumbing leak we needed to track down. Which, as it turns out, involved filling the tub and waiting to see what happened. Glamorous stuff.

We also brought in a drainage specialist to look at the creek and hillside behind the property and help us understand what we were dealing with there.

There were inspections, specialists, negotiations, renegotiations, repairs to coordinate, and approximately one million little conversations and renegotiations in between. You don't always know what questions are going to come up. You just need to know how to get the right people involved, get the answers, and keep moving the deal forward.

Today, after three years of searching and a whole lot of problem-solving...

A career can be ambitious without becoming your entire life.

After a decade in real estate, I’ve learned that success isn’t just about hitting the next goal, getting the next listing, or closing the next deal.

It’s having the systems, the team, and the perspective to build a business that supports the life you actually want to live.

For me, that means working hard, staying competitive, taking care of myself, loving where I live, and knowing when to close the laptop and be present for the people who matter most 🤍
