Kaba-LAW Ba Ka? Nawawala ang Driver’s License mo?

Atty. Jofre here. Hindi sapat na sabihin lang na nawala ang license mo, kailangan mo itong i-document legally.

Ganito kasimple ang dahilan kung bakit kailangan ng Affidavit of Loss:

1.) Proof na nawala talaga ang license
Ito ang official statement mo under oath. Ito ang basehan ng gobyerno para i-process ang replacement.

2.) Protection laban sa misuse
Kapag may ibang gumamit ng nawalang license mo, may dokumento ka na magpapatunay na wala na ito sa’yo.

3.) Requirement ng Land Transportation Office (LTO)
Hindi ka makakakuha ng replacement license kung wala ito.



Simple lang, the Affidavit of Loss protects you and allows the system to recognize your claim properly.

The affidavit assures immigration authorities that the traveler has sufficient financial backing and a responsible sponsor during their stay abroad.
📌 𝗜𝗺𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗮𝗻𝘁 𝗥𝗲𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗿𝘀:
The affidavit must be properly notarized.

Immigration officers still have the final discretion on allowing departure.

From interns to future pañeros in the making!

Today at Recososa Law Firm, we celebrated the culmination of the internship journey of Alexi and Aya, and what a beautiful ride it has been. What started with learning, observation, note taking, drafting, and probably a little healthy panic here and there, ended with a room full of gratitude, laughter, and proud hearts.

Inside our conference room at Park Centrale Building, IT Park, we marked the occasion with pizza, ice cream, heartfelt testimonials, speeches, tokens, and many shared laughs. It was more than a simple celebration. It was a reminder that the legal journey is not just about books, cases, and deadlines. It is also about growth, character, mentorship, and the people who leave a mark on your office and in your heart.

Alexi and Aya, you have both been such a blessing to Recososa Law Firm. You brought not only your hard work and willingness to learn, but also your warmth, humility, and good spirit. Now, as you move onward to law school, we are excited for everything that lies ahead for you both.

Certificate of Authority for a Notarial Act — Why This Document Matters

Many people do not realize this, but before a document can be notarized, the notary public must have a valid Certificate of Authority for a Notarial Act. This is not just a formality. This is a legal requirement under the Notarial Rules.

Firstly, what is a Certificate of Authority for a Notarial Act?
This is the authority issued by the Executive Judge to a commissioned Notary Public allowing him or her to perform notarial acts within a specific territorial jurisdiction and during a specific period. Without this certificate, a lawyer cannot notarize documents even if he is a lawyer.

Secondly, why is this important?
If a document is notarized by a person who has no valid notarial commission or no Certificate of Authority, the notarization can be considered invalid. This can cause serious legal problems because a notarized document becomes a public document and is admissible in court without further proof of authenticity.

Thirdly, common problems if there is no authority:
1.) The document may be considered not notarized.
2.) The document may not be accepted in court.
3.) The document may be rejected by the Registry of Deeds, banks, or government agencies.
4.) The notary public may face administrative sanctions.

Practical advice:
Before having a document notarized, make sure that:
a.) The notary public has a valid notarial commission.
b.) The notary public has a valid Certificate of Authority.
c.) The document is entered in the notarial register.
d.) You personally appear before the notary public with valid ID.

Notarization is not just a signature and a stamp. It is a legal process that converts a private document into a public document. If done incorrectly, the document can become legally useless.
