Our indefatigable Law FIrm secured yet another victory yesterday in a keenly contested case at Court of Appeal Enugu Judicial Division. The complete panel of 3 seasoned Justices in a unanimous judgment upheld our Arguments and submissions and set aside the Judgment of the High Court and also granted all our reliefs which the High Court refused to grant.

We commenced the case at the High Court seeking to enforce a Contract entered into by our Client and the Defendant which the Defendant breached. The High Court refused to grant our reliefs on an issue that was not even raised and canvassed by either party. The High Court judgment can simply be described as complete miscarriage of justice. We immediately lodged in our Appeal raising several grounds of Appeal and made robust Arguments.

We are happy that the Court of Appeal restored the travesty of judgment by the High Court.

We always maintain that Justice is still tenable in Nigeria with the right legal representatives.

Earlier today, our Principal Partner appeared with his Learned friends at the Supreme Court of Nigeria against Dangote Cement Plc. After critical sound legal reasoning with the eminent panel of 5 jurists, our application for leave to argue some Grounds of Appeal was granted and all our processes were deemed properly filed and served. The Appeal was adjourned to 14th day of February 2028 for hearing. Its really unfortunate how long matters drag at our Supreme Court. This Appeal started in 2019 at the Supreme Court and we got this date after 6years only for the Appeal to be further adjourned to 2028. There is indeed urgent need to create State/Regional Supreme Courts in Nigeria. This is discussion for another day anyways.

Be the above as it may, the facts of this case against Dangote is rather unfortunate and pathetic. Dangote Cement Truck in their usual characteristics had accident with our client vehicle and killed 2 of our clients who are breadwinners of their respectivefamilies. Dangote offered settlement of 6m and drafted agreement that we signed. Subsequently, they reneged from the Agreement they initiated and voluntarily entered into with us claiming it was a mistake. We commenced action against them in Court and got judgment. Instead of complying with the judgment, they proceeded on Appeals since 2018 and here we are still fighting for 7 years now. Both parties have spent more than the 6m they should have paid to settle this case since then. We hope to see to the end of this battle one day.

Thursday, October 10, 2024, marked a significant achievement for our office, as we successfully dissolved a marriage between a Nigerian and a U.S. citizen in fewer than six months. We proudly recognize and commend our staff's unwavering commitment and hard work in accomplishing this impressive feat.

THREE (3) ERSTWHILE POLICE OFFICERS CONVICTED AND SENTENCED TO LIFE IMPRISONMENT FOR KILLING A CITIZEN WHILE ALLEGEDLY EFFECTING ARREST.

Earlier today, Anambra State High Court presided by Hon. Justice A.O. Okuma convicted three (3) erstwhile Police Officers that were earlier dismissed from the Nigerian Police Force. The errant Police Officers in disguise of arresting the deceased Killed him.

The Court held that the Prosecution Counsel proved the case beyond reasonable doubt and found them guilty accordingly. They were all convicted and sentenced to 7 years Imprisonment for the offense of Conspiracy and LIFE IMPRISONMENT for the offence of Manslaughter.

TRULAW CHAMBERS through her Principal Counsel (C.J. OKEKE Esq.) prosecuted the case with the Fiat of the Honourable Attorney General.

This is yet another victory for our Firm (TRULAW CHAMBERS) and a succinct reminder that Justice is still tenable with the right Legal Representatives.

BREAKING:
High Court of Anambra State sitting at Onitsha presided over by Hon. Justice S.N. Odili just delivered an erudite well seasoned Judgment against the Nigerian Police Force and in favour of our Client in Suit No: O/Misc.33/2023.

The Court inter alia awarded the sum of Ten Million Naira N10,000,000.00 in favour of our client for breach of his fundamental rights by the Police.

We commenced this action sometime in February 2023 and in less than one year we secured judgment of Ten Million Naira for our client.

Do not allow the Police or indeed anyone to breach your rights. Whether your rights has been breached, is being breached or is likely to be breached in future you can make a case.

On 8th November, 2023, we successfully applied for and secured the Bail of our Clients who have been in Prison Custody. Four of them were at Aguata Medium Security Correctional Center and one was an in mate at Onitsha Correctional. Their Bail conditions have been perfected and they have regained their freedom.
