It was indeed a joyous moment for me and my family as my daughter, Oluoma was called to the Nigerian Bar yesterday.

I am deeply grateful to the learned Justices and Judges of various courts in the country, my brother silks, the Governor of Eastern Bar Forum, the Executives and members of Unity Bar Branch of the Nigerian Bar Association, other lawyers and eminent Nigerians as they felicitated with me by gracing the occasion of my daughter's After-Call Reception with their august presence. It is my fervent prayer that joy and celebration would not depart from them and their homes.

I also use this medium to heartily welcome my daughter and her call-mates to the largest Bar in West Africa. May they find success and fulfilment in this noble profession of ours.

A Good Man Bids Goodbye.

It is with a heavy heart and sense of great loss that I join family, friends and associates in mourning the untimely demise of a one time Chairman of the Kaduna branch of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), Olumuyiwa O. Olowokure Esq, who passed on to eternal glory yesterday afternoon after a brief illness.

O.O. as he was fondly called was an astute Bar man, a personal friend and confidant. As the head of my Technical Team during the 2018 NBA elections, I found in him a loyal, dedicated, dependable and committed ally who committed his time, energy and resources into my project to lead our noble association.

O.O. will be remembered as a detribalized and consummate Bar man with the midas touch who during his tenure as Chairman of Kaduna branch of the NBA hosted one of the most successful conferences in the history of the association. He believed in excellence and brought same to bear in all he did.

His sudden exit leaves a great vacuum that will be difficult to be filled. O.O. was a good man and my sincere prayers is that the Almighty grant his family, friends colleagues and members of the Kaduna branch of NBA, the grace to pass through this dark hour and may the soul of the deceased find eternal rest in the bosom of the Almighty.

My Reply to the message sent to me by Paul Usoro SAN which he has also shared on blogs and social media.

My position still remains that there must be an independent and participatory forensic post-election audit of international standard before the results are ratified.

The Outcome of the audit will put me in a position to ascertain the way forward.

In the we shall develop a user friendly NBA App by which every lawyer will be able to access NBA products and services, including making payments with Ease. The app shall also contain the E-library.

We shall also help our young lawyers to obtain trainings from institutions that offer same at minimum cost, we shall partner with these institutions to achieve this.

We will also reduce conference fees to make it attractive to our young lawyers.

Competence and capacity building is what will enable our young lawyers to compete globaly in the Legal profession.

PA GOMEZ BOWS OUT FOREVER

It is with shock that I learnt of the demise of a doyen of the bar, activist, consummate bar man and the lawyers’ lawyer(it is a matter of conscience) Pa Tunji Fortunatus Gomez who died on Tuesday, at the age of 90 years.

Just last March, I joined our colleagues of the Lagos Branch and friends across the country to celebrate the 90th birthday of this courageous and dogged fighter for justice; who was a role model to us and the younger generation.

Like I stated in my goodwill message at the birthday; Pa Gomez was an inspirational elder of the bar, whose genuine interest in the good of the society and key issues relating to the NBA, earned him the love and respect of people within and outside the profession.

He lived a life of positive impact and contributed immensely in his own unique ways to the the growth, unity and progress of our noble association. His demise at this time in the history of our association will no doubt create a vacuum in the NBA and the society.

My heart goes to members of his family and the Lagos branch of the NBA where he was an active member, I pray the Almighty grants him eternal rest, as he bows out after years of meritorious service to humanity, while also giving his love ones and colleagues the fortitude to bear this irreparable loss.

Adieu the Lawyers' Lawyer .(it is a matter of conscience) for we shall deeply miss Pa Gomez.

Today marks another major turning point in my life as I urge all members of the Bar and the good people of Nigeria to join me to felicitate on the anniversary of my birthday. The good Lord has been faithful, merciful and compassionate to me all these years. Join me and say a big thank you to Almighty Jehovah for his mercies endureth forever.
