After more than 2 remarkable years with us, 30.4.2026 marked the final day of our beloved colleague, Peggie, before embarking on a new chapter overseas to pursue her career and aspirations.

From the very beginning of her legal practice, Peggie distinguished herself exceptionally. Despite being only in her first year of practice at the material time, she achieved what many would consider impossible — breaking the firm’s record as the youngest lawyer in our history to bring in the highest number of files. Her dedication, drive, professionalism and ability to connect with clients left a lasting impression on all of us.

Her final court attendance at the Ipoh High Court became a meaningful and memorable moment to conclude this chapter of her journey with the firm — a fitting reflection of the passion and commitment she consistently carried throughout her time with us.

While we are saddened to see her leave, we are equally proud to witness her stepping courageously into a bigger stage internationally. We have no doubt that greater achievements await her ahead.

Thank you, Peggie, for your invaluable contributions, hard work and the wonderful memories shared over the years. Wishing you nothing but success, happiness and fulfillment in your overseas journey and legal career ahead.

We are delighted to announce the admission of two new partners at SYTT, effective 1 April 2025.

Venny rejoins the partnership, having first joined SYTT in 2014 and previously served as a partner before stepping down in 2017 for personal reasons. We are pleased to welcome her back to the leadership team. Venny will continue to lead our Kajang office alongside two junior associates. Her deep expertise in property and finance documentation has been instrumental in enhancing the firm’s reputation, contributing significantly to SYTT’s recent recognition in the 2025 Legal 500 Asia Pacific as a “Firm to Watch” in Real Estate and Construction Malaysia.

Wong Kar Chun (“KC”) has been promoted to Junior Partner. KC, who joined SYTT in 2019, has grown into a key member of our team—a true SYTT success story. Over the past few years, he has worked closely with Edmond Teh (“ET”), playing a pivotal role in several landmark case victories and instrumental to SYTT's nomination as the finalist in Dispute Resolution Boutique Law Firm of the Year of ALB Malaysia Law Awards 2024. While he will continue to collaborate with ET on selected matters, KC will now lead his own team, also focusing on employment and matrimonial dispute resolution.

The recruitment of talented candidates is ongoing to further strengthen the depth and capabilities of our litigation team.

Congratulations to Venny and KC on this well-deserved achievement—an exciting milestone for both their careers and the continued growth of SYTT.
