We are pleased to introduce Ms. Kartini Devi A/P Manimoly, who joined us since May 2025 as Senior Legal Associate in the Litigation Department.

Ms Kartini's practice covers criminal defense, debt recovery, personal injury, fatal accidents, defamation, corporate disputes, land disputes, company/shareholder matters, banking litigation, bankruptcy/winding up, across all Malaysian court levels.

Ms. Kartini’s legal journey began with chambering at Kumar & Co (Penang), from September 2018 to June 2019, where she assisted counsel and the master on banking litigation matters, bankruptcy proceedings, debt recovery, criminal proceedings, and corporate crime cases. This early exposure laid a strong foundation for her subsequent roles. She then served as a Legal Assistant at Rajen & Associates (Penang), where she focused on banking litigation, including bankruptcy procedures and debt recovery, alongside general civil matters.

In December 2020, Ms. Kartini joined Subramaniam & Shafiq as a Legal Assistant. There, she managed personal injury and fatal accident cases, civil litigation, criminal defense, and related matters, further broadening her practical experience in civil and criminal proceedings.

In 2023, she broadened her civil litigation expertise by joining Naicker & Associates in Penang, now known as Imavathi & Co., where she gained extensive exposure to complex personal injury claims and litigated at all levels of the courts.

Ms. Kartini’s academic credentials include an L.L.B. (Hons) from the National University of Malaysia (UKM), and she was admitted to the Malaysian Bar on 3 January 2020.

We are confident that Ms Kartini’s rich mix of broad civil and criminal litigation exposure will greatly benefit our clients and strengthen our litigation capabilities at Hng & Partners.

While our IP department, led by Ms Jivitha Parajothi managed and completed the registration process, it’s important to recognize that a trademark’s registration fundamentally depends on the unique brand identity it represents. As we all know, only a distinctive mark that stands out can be lawfully registered and protected.
