We're proud to announce the launch of our new specialist Intellectual Property service as we celebrate 150 years of business...🛡️™️

The new service strengthens our expertise in trademarks, copyright, design rights and wider IP matters, following Associate CILEX Lawyer Charlotte Barugh's successful completion of a Postgraduate Certificate in Intellectual Property with Merit from Bournemouth University.

The launch comes in a particularly significant year, marking both our 150th anniversary and 150 years since the UK's first registered trademark, Bass Brewery's iconic Red Triangle. 🔺

A nickname. A law firm. A world-famous musician.

As we continue exploring our 150-year history, we've uncovered the extraordinary story behind Jacksons Monk & Rowe - a song recorded by Elvis Costello and The Brodsky Quartet. 🎶

The song's title originated as a loving nickname given to Middlesbrough-born cellist Jacky Thomas by her father, inspired by the former Jacksons Monk & Rowe offices in Queen's Square. Decades later, it became a recording that has been performed around the world. 🌎
