Employee TRIBUNAL emergency of the week! WATSAP Screenshots!!
🕵️♀️ QUESTION - Do you have a watsap group in your company?… you know, the type where you celebrate successes and have some friendly banter?
BEWARE the WATSAP save it for a rainy day screenshot! 🫣
‘Banter’ was had at a firm I met with over WATSAP 😳 but unfortunately one team member suffered in silence 😒 they didnt see it as banter…. It was all ONE WAY TRAFFIC 🚓 they saw it as bullying, so they wisely took a screenshot every time they were aimed at.
It came to a point where the employee couldn’t take anymore and handed in their notice - 3 weeks later the employer has a letter taking them to a Tribunal.
Outcome - Based on the evidence, I would suggest the employee will be quite a bit wealthier following the hearing and the employer will have to face a significant lump sum payout, due within 28 days of any award.
