Technically, a person can leave behind an ‘informal’ Will, written in unconventional ways...

But ‼️ when you simply scribble down your wishes on a hanky, you risk being misinterpreted and cannot guarantee your instructions will be followed exactly as you intended.

Even worse, if you’ve signed your Will without a witness, then it can be classed as void or voidable, and ignored after your death.

The Dam is leaking! 💧 We need to act now to ensure it’s still there to be enjoyed for future generations ⏳

Magdale Dam, a cherished historic landmark in Honley, is in urgent need of repair to stop a significant leak threatening its structural integrity and the surrounding ecosystem.

Once a key feature of a mill, the dam has evolved into a vital wildlife sanctuary, supporting species like herons, kingfishers, and goosanders.

The Honley Village Community Trust is spearheading efforts to ensure the dam's restoration.

On Tuesday last week, Kara, Kim and Adam from the team at Open Law, visited the village community centre to learn about the plan for restoration works.

Despite the circumstances, it was great to connect with local business leaders and passionate community volunteers, united by a love of Honley and it’s outstanding natural beauty.

So far there’s been a whopping £15,700 raised!

But that’s way short of the £150,000.00 required for the repairs
