The role is for 2 hours per week, usually split across Wednesday and Friday, with 1 hour each day.

Each hour can be worked at an agreed time between 9am and 12pm or 2pm and 5pm, offering some flexibility around other commitments.

LPAs are now digital, but that doesn't mean you should go it alone

Lasting Powers of Attorney can now be completed and registered online, and it's a welcome change. The new digital process cuts down on paperwork errors, offers prompts as you go and makes tracking your application far easier than the old paper system ever did.

But here's the thing: making an LPA easier to submit doesn't make it any less powerful a document. An LPA still gives someone else the authority to make decisions about your finances, your property and even your medical care if you're ever unable to make them yourself. Get the details wrong, choose the wrong attorney or leave out a replacement and the consequences can be serious, sometimes only coming to light when it's too late to fix them easily.

A solicitor can't be replaced by an online form when it comes to spotting family complications, wording instructions properly or making sure you understand exactly what you're signing.

Divorce is hard enough. When one spouse owns or runs a business and the other has never had sight of the accounts, it can feel impossible to know where you stand.

Here is the reassuring part. If you were not the one running the company day to day, you still have legal rights, and the business may well count as a matrimonial asset to be shared, especially if it grew during the marriage.

Our family law team knows how to get to the truth. That can mean pushing for full financial disclosure, bringing in forensic accountants to establish what the business is really worth and investigating whether income has been reduced or assets quietly moved. The courts take a very dim view of anyone who is not open and honest.

You do not have to settle for less simply because you were kept out of the loop.

Mirror Wills feel like the simple choice for couples. Two matching Wills, everything left to each other and then on to the children you both chose.

But they offer less protection than most people think. Once one partner dies, the survivor can rewrite their Will and your intended beneficiaries can be written out. Remarriage revokes a Will completely, and the estate can be spent, lost or swallowed by care fees.
