“Client first.”

Probably one of the most overused phrases in business.

It’s easy to say.

It’s easy to put on a website.

It’s easy when everything is going well.

But what does it actually mean when things aren’t going well?

For us, that’s when it matters most.

It means making the uncomfortable phone call rather than avoiding it.

Admitting when something hasn’t gone to plan.

Challenging a decision when we don’t think it’s right for the client.

Escalating when communication isn’t good enough.

Sometimes moving a client to another legal partner because it’s the right thing to do — even when that creates more work for us.

And occasionally taking a financial hit because protecting the client relationship matters more than protecting the margin.

Client first isn’t a marketing line.

It’s a decision you make over and over again.

Sometimes when it’s difficult.

Sometimes when it costs you.

And sometimes when nobody outside the business will ever know you made it.

We won’t always get everything right.

But one thing I will never compromise on is giving a s**t about the outcome.

For the client.

For the broker or agent who trusted us with their relationship.

And for the reputation we’re building together.

That, to me, is what client first actually looks like. 🧡

Not something we say.

Something we have to earn. Every single day.

Have we set the bar too low?

Sometimes I wonder whether we’ve become so used to poor communication during conveyancing that we’ve started treating it as normal.

“You probably won’t hear much for a couple of weeks.”

“Solicitors are difficult to get hold of.”

“There’s nothing you can do but wait.”

“That’s just conveyancing.”

But… why?

Buying or selling a home is one of the biggest financial and emotional events in somebody’s life.

Surely expecting someone to communicate with you isn’t unreasonable?

Expecting to understand what’s happening isn’t demanding.

Expecting somebody to respond when there’s a problem isn’t asking too much.

And expecting the professionals involved to work together shouldn’t feel revolutionary.

There are some incredible conveyancers doing exactly that every single day — and we’re lucky to work with many of them.

But as an industry, I think we can raise the bar.

At Fix My Legals, that means matching clients with the right legal expertise and then staying involved.

Supporting. Chasing. Connecting. Escalating. Communicating.

Not because every transaction will be perfect.

They won’t be.

But because silence should never be considered a service standard.

Maybe instead of telling people “that’s just conveyancing”…

we should start asking:

“Why does it have to be?” 🧡

What do you think should be the absolute MINIMUM a client should expect from their conveyancing experience?

I’d genuinely love to hear it. 👇

Every business starts with a reason. Ours started with a question.

“Surely there’s a better way?”

That question was the beginning of Fix My Legals.

Our Founder, Roxanne, didn’t set out to create another conveyancing business.

She wanted to create something different.

A business that could bring the different parts of the home-moving journey together.

Where clients felt supported rather than passed from pillar to post.

Where brokers and estate agents had someone alongside them rather than spending hours chasing.

Where lawyers could focus on the legal work, with FML providing an additional layer of communication, progression and accountability around it.

And where “that’s not our responsibility” could be replaced with:

“Leave it with us. We’ll see what we can do.”

That vision became Fix My Legals.

Four years later, we’re still building it.

We haven’t got everything right. We’ve learned, adapted, innovated and changed things along the way — and we’ll continue to.

Because doing something differently means being prepared to challenge what already exists.

Our ambition isn’t simply to process more conveyancing transactions.

It’s to help create a better home-moving experience for as many people as possible.

Better communication.
More collaboration.
Greater accountability.
And real people who genuinely care about the outcome.

The vision that started FML is the same vision driving us forward today:

Surely there’s a better way.

We believe there is.

And we’re building it. 🧡

So… what does Fix My Legals actually do? 🤔

It’s a question we’re asked surprisingly often.

And the simplest answer is:

We don’t just find you a conveyancer. We stay involved.

There are plenty of conveyancing panels where a client receives a quote, chooses a firm and is then passed across to the lawyer.

Job done.

That’s not FML.

We’ve deliberately built something different.

🏠 We match, rather than allocate.
A leasehold flat isn’t the same as a standard freehold sale. A commercial purchase isn’t the same as buying your family home. A complex title, bridging transaction or remortgage can all require different expertise.

We look at the client AND the transaction and match them with the right legal partner.

🤝 Then we stay.

From quote to completion, the FML team remains alongside the client, broker, agent and lawyer.

We communicate.

We chase.

We progress.

We troubleshoot.

We escalate.

We connect the different parties.

And when something goes wrong, we don’t simply point at whose responsibility it technically is.

We help find the solution.

Because there’s another important difference.

Our legal partners do the legal work.

FML provides the additional layer around it.

The communication.
The accountability.
The relationships.
The support.
The human beings who can pick up a phone and actually get involved.

For our mortgage brokers and estate agents, that means you’re not referring your client somewhere and hoping for the best.

You have FML in your corner too.

And for the client, it means they’re never just another case number sitting in a queue.

There are cheaper ways to process conveyancing.

There are certainly more automated ways.

But we didn’t build FML to simply process transactions.

We built it to help people move home. 🧡

Right lawyer. Right expertise. Real people. Hands-on from quote to completion.

That’s Fix My Legals.

Conveyancing. Done Properly.

A solicitor can handle the legal work.
But who is looking after everything around it?

That distinction matters.

Because when someone moves home, they don’t experience their transaction as a series of separate professional responsibilities.

They experience one journey.

They don’t care whether the delay technically sits with the lawyer, lender, agent, broker, management company or someone else in the chain.

They just want somebody to tell them:

What’s happening?
What happens next?
And who is sorting it?

That’s where Fix My Legals is different.

We match every client and property matter with the right legal expertise but our involvement doesn’t end there.

We remain hands-on from quote to completion.

We communicate.

We chase.

We connect the different parties.

We question when something doesn’t make sense.

We escalate when something isn’t moving.

We lean on relationships when a senior decision is needed.

And when there’s a problem, we don’t waste valuable time working out who we can blame.

We work out how we can help fix it.

Because accountability doesn’t necessarily mean everything is your fault.

It means caring enough about the outcome to step up anyway.

For our brokers and estate agents, that means you’re not simply recommending a conveyancer.

You’re putting FML alongside your client for the journey too.

And I think that’s exactly what this industry needs more of.

Less “that’s not ours.”
More “leave it with us.” 🧡

Relationships have always been at the heart of FML. 🧡

Not referrals.
Not transactions.
Not numbers on a spreadsheet.

Relationships.

Because the best businesses aren’t built by working for people. They’re built by working with them.

Our clients. Our brokers. Our estate agents. Our lawyers. Our team.

Every one of those relationships matters.

And for me, a genuine partnership means more than being there when everything is going brilliantly.

It means picking up the phone when something isn’t.

Having the uncomfortable conversation.

Being transparent.

Taking ownership.

Challenging each other when necessary.

And sometimes stepping outside of “that’s not my responsibility” because getting the right outcome matters more than protecting your own corner.

We’ve experienced plenty of storms over the last four years, and they’ve taught me something:

Pressure doesn’t create strong relationships. It reveals them.

The right people lean in.

They communicate more, not less.

They ask “what can we do?” rather than “whose fault is this?”

And very often, you come out the other side with a relationship that’s stronger than it was before.

That’s exactly the culture I want around FML.

I don’t want hundreds of transactional connections.

I want genuine, long-term relationships with people who share our values, our standards and our desire to do better for the client.

Because when the right people work together, support each other and all care about the same outcome…

Everyone wins.

Better for the client. Better for our partners. Better together. 🧡

Competitive doesn’t mean cheap. And fair doesn’t mean expensive.

There seems to be a constant race in conveyancing to get to the lowest possible fee.

But I think we’re asking the wrong question.

Instead of “How cheap can we make it?”

We should be asking:

“Is this fee fair for the expertise, responsibility and service being provided?”

At Fix My Legals, we absolutely want our fees to be competitive.

We understand clients have budgets. We understand brokers and agents want to recommend a solution that represents good value.

But we won’t chase the bottom.

Because behind every quote is a qualified legal professional taking responsibility for one of the biggest financial transactions of someone’s life.

And alongside them is FML.

Hands-on from quote to completion.

Communicating.
Progressing.
Troubleshooting.
Escalating.
Reassuring.
Holding people accountable.

That service has value.

And here’s the important bit…

A lower quote isn’t necessarily better value.

Saving £100 at the beginning doesn’t feel like much of a saving if nobody answers the phone, the transaction drifts for months, the client becomes stressed or — worst case — the transaction falls through.

Equally, a premium price doesn’t automatically guarantee a premium service.

That’s why our philosophy is simple:

Fair fees. Competitive fees. Exceptional service.

Not the cheapest.

Not unnecessarily expensive.

Just the right fee for the right lawyer, the right expertise and the right level of support.

Because conveyancing shouldn’t be a race to the bottom.

It should be a race to better. 🧡

The real test of a relationship isn’t when everything is going well.

It’s what happens when things get difficult.

When there’s a problem.
When pressure builds.
When something doesn’t go to plan.

Do people disappear, point fingers and protect themselves?

Or do they lean in and say:

“We’re in this together. How do we fix it?”

The last few weeks have reminded me just how much I value the latter. 🧡

Because the strongest relationships I have — both inside and outside FML — haven’t been built purely through the good times.

They’ve been strengthened by the storms we’ve ridden together.

The difficult conversations.

The moments where we’ve had to be completely transparent with one another.

The times we’ve disagreed, challenged each other, found a solution and come out the other side with even greater respect.

That’s a genuine relationship.

And strangely, sometimes the difficult moments become the ones that create the biggest opportunities for growth.

You understand each other better.

Trust becomes deeper.

Communication becomes stronger.

And the relationship that emerges can be far more valuable than the one that existed before the problem ever happened.

It’s something that has shaped the culture we’ve created at Fix My Legals.

Internally, I want a team that stands shoulder to shoulder when things get tough.

Externally, I want legal partners, brokers, agents and businesses around us who operate in exactly the same way.

Not relationships based purely on transactions, numbers or what we can do for one another today.

Real partnerships.

People who celebrate the wins together, but more importantly, ride the storms together too.

Because business will never be plain sailing.

Things will go wrong. People will make mistakes. Challenges will come.

For me, what defines a relationship is what happens next.

Some relationships crack under pressure.

The genuine ones become stronger because of it.

And those are the relationships I will always value, protect and invest in. 🧡

Service is easy when everything is going well.

The real test is what happens when it isn’t.

Completion day.
Something unexpected happens.
The other side goes quiet.
Calls aren’t being answered.
Emails aren’t being returned.

The buyer is panicking.
The seller wants answers.
The agent is stuck in the middle.
The broker is asking what’s happening.

And suddenly everyone feels very alone.

That’s when service really matters.

At Fix My Legals, we don’t disappear because the problem technically sits with somebody else.

We step up.

We reassure the client.

We keep the broker and agent informed.

We speak to our lawyer.

We think outside the box.

And rather than spending hours pondering whose fault it is, we focus on one thing:

How do we get this resolved?

Sometimes that means leaning on the relationships we’ve built with our legal partners.

Picking up the phone to a senior decision-maker.

Getting someone with the authority and experience to look at the issue immediately.

Finding a practical solution rather than allowing another day to disappear.

Because relationships matter enormously when you actually need them.

And that, for me, is the difference between having a conveyancing provider and having a conveyancing partner.

When you partner with FML, you’re not just accessing a lawyer.

You’re accessing our team, our relationships, our influence, our communication and our determination to get things done.

We can’t promise that problems won’t happen.

We can promise you won’t be left dealing with them alone.

That’s partnership.

That’s service.

And that’s what FML brings to the table that a traditional lawyer or panel simply cannot. 🧡

14/08/2026

There is no such thing as ‘one size fits all’ in conveyancing.

Because property transactions aren’t all the same.

A straightforward first-time purchase needs something very different from a complex limited company portfolio.

A standard residential mortgage isn’t the same as bridging finance.

A leasehold flat can bring very different complexities to a freehold house.

A commercial purchase isn’t the same as a residential purchase.

And an overseas investor has very different requirements to someone selling the family home.

So why would we send them all to the same place?

At Fix My Legals, our expertise isn’t simply in providing access to lawyers.

It’s knowing which lawyer is right for which transaction.

We understand the matter, the client and their individual requirements, and match them with a legal professional who has the specific expertise, experience and capacity to handle it — while delivering the high level of service and communication we expect.

Residential.
Commercial.
Bridging & specialist finance.
Limited companies.
Portfolio landlords.
Leasehold.
New build.
Shared ownership.
Auction.
Trusts.
Overseas clients.

And plenty of wonderfully complicated matters that don’t fit neatly into a box. 😅

Because being on a panel doesn’t automatically make a lawyer the right lawyer for every transaction.

One relationship with FML. An array of legal expertise behind it.

The right lawyer.
The right expertise.
The right service.

Because there is no one-size-fits-all solution in property.

But there can be one place to find the right solution. 🧡
