Sally Hulston, partner, and Mark Jones, DEI and wellbeing lead at Lewis Silkin share how they’ve embedded wellbeing into their firm’s workplace structure.

“If [solicitors] are having a bad week, or day, they should feel they can say ‘Is it okay if I finish a bit earlier,’ or ‘can I have a break now and log back on later?’” says Sally.

The firm has introduced trained co-workers, or ‘guardians’, who help colleagues become aware of the resources they can access to deal with stress. 👇

“The guardians are a prelude to a mental health first aider – a first line of defence if someone is struggling,” shares Mark.

By adopting a flexible and hybrid-first way of working with in-person ‘anchor days’, the firm has also hosted various staff events for team building.
