Listing Now Live.

Open House Saturday, 1-3 PM.

Built in 1911 and recently re-imagined by Calgary design practice Studio North, the Parlour House sits on a tree-lined stretch of 12th Street NW in a quiet pocket of Hillhurst, flanked by the main streets of Kensington and Riley Park to the north. Thoughtfully restored character homes in neighbourhoods like this are a genuine find. When they become available, they go quickly.

The kitchen is the pinwheel of the house. Designed for serious cooking with six burners, a pot filler, and Miele appliances, it opens through a full window wall to the west-facing backyard, flooding the main floor with afternoon light that dapples through the mature trees. The kitchen flows into the dining area and living room, and in summer, the whole main level extends out into the yard, a generous, sheltered space large enough for kids to run in and a large deck to entertain. The crackle of a wood-burning fireplace pulls it all together on the other end.

Upstairs are three bedrooms. The primary suite faces the backyard with a gas fireplace and a large ensuite. The third bedroom sits in close proximity to the primary, ideal as a nursery in the early years, and has served equally well as a home office and walk-in closet.

The basement is a fully self-contained in-law suite with its own private entrance and kitchen. The kind of setup that means more people visit, because they know they have somewhere comfortable to stay. Great for entertaining, and ideal for a family who wants to be close.

This is one of Calgary’s truly walkable neighbourhoods, where everything a family could need is within a short walk: the Riley Park splash park, farmers markets, grocery stores, schools, cafes, and some of the city’s best restaurants, all without getting in the car.

The story continues with the renovation of this 1978 Biggar Camper. A recognizable piece of Canadian camping history, the project approached restoration as an act of preservation as much as reinvention.

Douglas fir plywood, cork floors, a wax canvas ceiling, and carefully integrated storage bring new life to the compact interior. The palette draws from the trailer’s origins, while a rigorous rebuild prepares it for several new adventures to come.

Welcome to your new camper.

The Biggar Camper is a genuine piece of Canadian camping history. A 19-foot clamshell built in Canada through the late 1970s during the iconic moulded fibreglass trailer movement. They earned a reputation for being well built, aerodynamic, practical trailers with a distinct and recognizable two-tone shell. Collectors know what they are, and good examples are hard to find these days.

This one was reimagined by Studio North, a Calgary based design practice, with a considered design throughout. Lightweight materials were chosen - light enough for many modern SUVs to tow. Douglas fir plywood, cork floors, wax canvas ceiling, deliberate storage. Warm, nostalgic tones that feel true to the era without being a costume. An emphasis on building science and craftsmanship during the rebuild.

It was built to disappear into the wilderness for a long weekend. A 400W rooftop solar system, MaxxAir vent fan, and 12V fridge mean off-grid capability. Back country roads, quiet lake sites, the spots without hookups. That’s what this was designed for.

New torsion bars, axles, and brakes. Spray foam insulation. Full electrical re-wire, new plumbing and waterlines. Pigmented truck bed liner exterior. Rear wet bath, two-burner cooktop, sink. Sleeps four. One item outstanding: hot water tank needs to be replaced.

A rare Canadian classic, ready for its next chapter.

Offered for $35,000
